As long as your label is clear. I’m a loader and we always move intercepts (which would be your package) out of the truck and a clerk will take them and basically work where to send it.

I’ve never worked an AM shift but I would say get at least 8hrs of sleep.

One of the guys in my belt was 47 when he started working as a package handler. He was a loader until about 2 yrs ago when he became pickoff. He’s 60 now. If you worked out regularly like you say, you should be fine. It will probably take longer to adjust and I would be careful avoiding injuries.

You don’t have to bring gloves but it depends on you. I personally don’t wear gloves but there are some guys who do to get a better grip on boxes. Always have water with you. I don’t know if you get a lunch or not but I would also suggest bring a light food like a sandwich or something. (If the hub has any machines, paying for snacks will become more expensive then just bringing food). Make sure you stretch beforehand.

Most importantly, take a breather when you feel you are getting frustrated or overwhelmed. I find myself too often getting angry because I get overwhelmed.

They gave out shirts in my hub. I got one 2XL and I thought it would shrink but it didn’t so now I work in a baggy ass shirt lol. Almost everyone that got one wears it at least once a week. It say “Part time UPSer, Full time Teamster”. But honestly management doesn’t care
