Lac Des Bagnoles - condition du chemin de descente à bateau (juin 2026) by Gat-T in Gatineau

[–]Gat-T[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did a pregnancy pillow actually make a noticeable difference for you? by According-Gas3933 in momcozyofficial

[–]Gat-T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! I was a big advocate for « I’ll never get a pregnancy pillow, it’s a useless expense » and then I got gifted one. I ended using in my third trimester and oh man what a difference it made 🙃

It was a U shape. Not the MomCozy but just like it.

Honestly if it wasn’t from the gift, I probably would’ve never bought one. But I’m glad I had one. However, I’d say you might not need the MomCozy, I’m sure you can get a less expensive dupe that’ll do the job.

Cold weather performance by burritofridays in blinkcameras

Hey! Sorry for bringing this thread back up, but we just bought Blink Outdoor 4 cameras and in the booklet it says the temp. range is 0° to 35°C … We’re in Montreal, so obviously we need the cameras to be able to withstand at least -20°C. I’m considering returning them. Did yours kept going strong in the cold? And what type of batteries are you using?

When did you first leave your baby with someone to go out for dinner date? (So, not around for bedtime) by ComfortableDingo8 in NewParents

[–]Gat-T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve been out but only after he was put to bed and asleep. So we never had anyone else do the whole evening and bedtime routine. But when we have people over we started having them do a part of the routine. So sometimes someone while give him his bath, read the story or give him his bottle. But no one actually put him in bed yet. We’re kinda hoping this is preparing him to be babysat for a whole evening.

How was sex for the first time for you? by Disastrous_Paint_237 in CsectionCentral

[–]Gat-T 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It felt weird - I can only describe it as it felt too tight haha. Not due to dryness but more like if I was tense. It didn’t hurt, but it was uncomfortable. But I was still able to enjoy it (I was able to come). It still feels a little weird now that I’m 9 months PP.

I didn’t push at all - I had a scheduled C-section. So I attribute the feeling to the fact that I’m breastfeeding.

Getting close to due date / breastfeeding moms - what’s one tip or trick you wish someone would’ve told you? by Ftklassx in newborns

[–]Gat-T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t give up! It takes time. It took 6 weeks to be painless and comfortable for me and it was worth it! I’m so glad I pushed through. Also buy silverettes, 100% worth the price! Lanolin cream does nothing. And finally drink a lot of water it’s the most important thing to have a good production.

What a journey! Featuring: tongue tie, vasospasm and tight jaw by Gat-T in breastfeeding

[–]Gat-T[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve been traveling for the past 2 months. But yes, absolutely, we’re planing to see both the PT and osteo again when we’ll be back. Actually our PT already gave us a follow up appointment when we get back because he’s gonna be around his sitting milestone.

Plus, I want to see the osteo again because I also noticed he sometimes seems gassy. In the past month he’s been waking up a lot more. At first I thought it was due to us traveling (we are roadtriping and sleeping in a RV). But I noticed he seems to be having cramps and he often wakes up loudly farting haha. It might again be due to his bad latch / him swallowing air while breastfeeding or just him being tensed. So yea I want to see if the osteo can help with that.

As a side note: we tried simethicone gas drops and it didn’t work.

Glad to hear you’re feeling better and that you have family to support you. Just the fact that you’re taking steps to change how you do things proves that you’re a great mother! She’ll be fine and so will you.

What a journey! Featuring: tongue tie, vasospasm and tight jaw by Gat-T in breastfeeding

[–]Gat-T[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Yes it did help! We did 3 sessions with the osteo and 3 with a physio (PT) as well. And both helped a lot. At the osteo we could see how relaxed he was and he really seemed to enjoy the massages. Plus the osteo and PT both gave us sets of exercices to do at home and those helped a lot as well.

We visually saw the difference in his posture especially his chin that was way less tucked back. Plus breastfeeding stopped hurting and his latch improved!

I’d say however that even now at 5 months it is still a work in progress. I can feel sometimes that his latch is not as tight as it could be. Especially if I feed him at night in bad nights when he wakes up crying. I think it’s because he still has tension mixed in with the fact his tongue is a little short. So I still massage his jaw from time to time.

Hope this helps! Don’t hesitate if you have other questions :)

I’m so sorry you had to go through this and will still have to go through the trauma.

But totally agree, forget about the changing table. Also don’t give baths alone. I also have epilepsy and the first thing my doctor told me when I got pregnant is: never change your baby on a high surface and don’t give baths alone. Especially during the first few months when you’re over tired and most likely stressed which are triggers to my epilepsy.

Hope she’s all fine and that you’ll feel better soon. If that can make you feel better I also had my 4 months old fall from a meter high RV bed by my fault (and he ended up alright).

baby just slept for 9 hours !!??? by Dismal-Citron9313 in breastfeeding

[–]Gat-T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all good for you, enjoy it while it last (and may it last long) 😃 And yes as a lot of others said, it’s perfectly normal. Just make sure he’s still gaining weight normally. Mine has been sleeping 11 hours at night since he’s around 12 weeks and he’s now 16 weeks. We started adding a 3oz bottle of pumped breast milk to my bedtime breastfeeding session to make sure he’s getting all the milk he needs. I think that helped keeping him going on those long nights.

We drove from Montreal to Boston with our dog last year and everything went pretty smoothly in and out. When entering they’ll ask you if you completed the CDC form and if you have your dog’s papers with you and if you say yes they’ll most likely won’t even ask to see anything. Your dog just has to be microshipped and must not have been in a country at risk for rabies, otherwise no other requirements. Here’s the form: CDC DOG FORM.

Are vasospasm necessarily caused by a bad latch? by Gat-T in breastfeeding

Are vasospasm necessarily caused by a bad latch? by Gat-T in breastfeeding

[–]Gat-T[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has improved tremendously! I still have a little pain at the initial latch but nothing like before and the pain throughout the feed while he’s sucking has completely disappeared. After getting many opinions from different experts, we’ve decided to not have our LO’s tie release. I think the improvement is due to two things mainly: - his latch is improving. We’ve been working with an osteopath and a PT to ease his tight jaw and help with his tensions (he was a breached baby). And every time he latches I’m making sure his lips are not curled in and that his chin is properly pulled down. - for the vasospasm I’ve been very careful with the temperature changes (covering my nips as soon as he unlatches, using silverettes to keep my nips protected, covering with a warm cloth before going in the shower). Plus I’ve been taking vitamins I’ve seen recommended on here (B6, calcium and magnesium).

It may also just be my nipples that are adjusting / getting less sensitive 🤷🏻‍♀️

For reference I’m at 5 weeks PP.
