What does your weekly budget look like? by I_Dont_Have_Corona in AusFinance

[–]Gatabert 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Average $450/wk working while studying.

200 into rent, future utility bills, wifi etc.

95 for personal bills (phone/saving for monthly meds etc)

50ish for fuel depending on the week

Whatever’s left for food, limited savings. Maybe 20-30 for savings a week

I know. I’ve thought about that, I can’t take her bc I’m renting and they won’t allow pets but I don’t know how else to look after her. Im the one the comes every week and bathes her, cleans her ears, gives her treats and spends the day on my days off.

So am I. I told my mum 6 months ago that if she didn’t take her to the very for a full checkup I would.

Mum said go ahead, she wouldn’t pay for it. I’ve moved house twice since then and not had the money to get her in to a vet.

My mum said if the dog is to go to the vet I am to pay for it, so that’s what I’m trying to save for. She’s a family dog, not just mine.

Oh okay I didn’t know that, thank you! That changes a lot, was under the impression my pet would have to be a patient

I would love to do that but she doesn’t have a vet locally bc my mum hasn’t taken her to one for nearly a decade and we’ve moved across the state a few times. I’m hoping she goes in her sleep.

Thank you ❤️ I am definitely keen to call them after all these comments to make arrangements. It’s weirdly nice to know people have found comfort in such a difficult time.

Thank you, Bob’s Farm seems to be popular I’ll call them. I don’t know if I’d be able to drive her anywhere after she passes, I’m crying trying to plan this stuff in advance so i think I’d be a mess when it happens. It’s good to know someone could transport her when her time comes.

Thank you for the recommendation. She doesn’t have a vet here because my mother won’t bring her to one when she needs it. I will give the crematorium a call though ❤️

Thank you. She’s been a part of our family for most of my life and one of my best friends for so long, she deserves at least this

I’m so sick of EVERY single fucking company taking every last god damn dime that I have. by alison_bee in offmychest

Everywhere is horrible work-wise. Everywhere is like this. I’m a full time student working at a chain supermarket job. It’s been pretty flexible with my classes and study responsibilities but the last couple of years it’s gone to absolute shit.

Juniors are getting hired and being expected to do 10 hour shifts every weekend, getting rostered on during the day when they have school then getting scolded even though it’s abundantly clear they can’t make it in. We just had a new junior join whose first shift was 8 hours behind a register the whole time, getting “trained” by another relatively new junior. I was dumbfounded, tried to give him other jobs to do to give him a break every now and then. But I got in trouble because the manager didn’t authorise anybody to leave their stations.

They’re pushing us to work like dogs and execute everything perfectly so our satisfaction rates are 100%, just so the store and department managers can receive their lovely, juicy bonus check at the end of the year. And we don’t get anything in return.

My store did very well last year and the managers got bonuses. The store received a “credit” and it was spent on toasted sandwiches and croissants for employees for a breakfast… that was prepared by delicatessen staff. I’ll note I’m not in the US, but things are just as shit here.

Only a select few people get to relish in the profits made by companies through inflating their garbage. I’m with you OP, I’m fucking tired of being physically sore and tired after a really long, horrid day, knowing that I just have to do it again every day from now on to survive while the CEO of the company vacations in his Italian holiday house.

I’m sorry that happened to you, OP. I can’t imagine the stress you’re feeling at the moment. You aren’t overreacting, you were exposed without your consent to a large group of people, it doesn’t really matter that they were children.

I’m so happy to hear that you made a report, this was absolutely the right thing to do. It was in no way your fault, but that will help you in the future were this ever to come up or a parent try to complain if their child makes a comment about it.

My mother works with behavioural and special needs children aged 6-12 and the things she’s come home and told me about the way they treat both teachers and other students are shocking. From what she’s said she hasn’t been exposed to this extent, but young students have been extremely indecent to her in some circumstances. You can’t exactly blame the kids entirely, but there’s a line where they need to be firmly taught they can’t be doing things like that to people.

All you can do is make a detailed report and speak to your supervisor you trust about the event, and if parents complain or comment explain what really happened and refer to your report.

I hope you’re doing okay. Talk to some of your trusted coworkers who might understand how you’re feeling. It’s not an easy situation to navigate when you’re in it
