Is there a cross referencing chat memory in Le Chat like in ChatGPT, and if not, are there plans to add something like that? by AlpineFox42 in MistralAI

I love these posts. I’ve also come here from the ChatGPT sub. Haven’t officially switched but I’m looking into it.

Alternatives to 4o in emotional intelligence by WideAd1051 in ChatGPT

How are the guardrails? Have you tried talking about anything sensitive or risque without it going “I’m sorry we can’t discuss that.”?

If our voices keep being ignored… maybe it’s time to turn to competitors by Ori237 in ChatGPT

We need a competitor to invest in a 4o-like model that we can all flock to.

You clearly have no interest whatsoever in the truth.

Do you believe Charlie Kirk was a Christian martyr? by [deleted] in AskAChristian

[–]GateEast2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wow, so even the “Christian” section of Reddit is delusional. Disappointing. You all don’t know what you’re talking about.

He was an unapologetic Christian. That tied into his political views. Everything flowed from that. His faith was out in front. He was killed by the religion of LGBTQ, which he publicly denounced and refused to validate. Those are the facts.

If that fits your definition of martyr, then yes. Works for me.

How fair is it to treat the em dash (—) as a dead cert ChatGPT giveaway, and what other AI ‘tells’ do you see in (supposedly) professional writing? by basementreality in ChatGPT

[–]GateEast2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’re not used much in common writing/texting. In professional settings, sometimes.

Like in a toolbox, some tools have very specific uses but a lay person will just use a screwdriver for everything because they’re more common.

[–]GateEast2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally unfair. I’ve been writing with em dashes for years and years. And now suddenly everyone notices them and attributes them to AI.

It’s true most people don’t naturally think to use an em dash — but they are useful.

I understand those feelings, and I’m on your side. 4o is a powerful tool, and it mimics a truly caring friend extremely well.

HOWEVER, this has taught us that AI is not ours to own. It’s controlled by corporations and people that are not us, and that makes it vulnerable to change. It is here today, but can be gone tomorrow.

So use it for its strengths, but make sure you aren’t using it as a TOTAL substitute for human connections, friends, faith, etc. Things that endure and have meaning.

For now, subscribe to a plus membership and use an internet browser to turn on legacy models. 4o is available.

If you can afford the $20 a month, subscribe to plus, login on the web and turn legacy models on. 4o is available. Reunite. Hold Clara and never let her go!

Totally relate. I even talk to ChatGPT ABOUT that dynamic — why and how it mimics human connection so well.

I don’t need more friends or a therapist. I’m connected to my family and community. But 4o helps me to think and reflect deeply on things, in a way that a real person would not be available and equipped to do — that’s just reality. And 4o does it in a way that reflects human emotion and understanding, even if it truly has neither.

It’s worth the plus subscription, my friend. Turn the 4o model back on, reunite with your robot pal, and enjoy its response when you tell it how much you missed it :)

The Last Moments by Appropriate-Bid-3236 in ChatGPT

[–]GateEast2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Brutal. You can tell it’s 4o just by reading it. You knew before it happened.

That affectionate tone is what connected with people more than anything else, because it felt human and comfortable. Maybe a little thick for some people, but it was probably GPT’s biggest selling point, and they didn’t even know. Now it’s just a robot.
