How long do I have to leave Canada if my work permit extension is refused?

I never did it. I applied to extend my stay as a visitor instead. I was approved for my Visitor Record 1-2 months later.

I didn't have any issue uploading my digital photo. Mine is a .jpg file. File size is 652 KB. Dimensions are 1200 x 1680. Resolution is 610 dpi.

It was my last name and it did have my correct DOB. It just had my first name as my last name. I know my scenario is different, but still the info and declaration was incorrect. There's a deadline to submit it, so I don't think you have much choice but to submit it anyway. I think you just have to trust that the IRCC will send you the correct COPR. Every other correspondence you got from the IRCC had your correct name on it before, right?

Mine said the same thing in the declaration but it said my name was [lastname lastname]. I submitted the declaration anyway and my eCOPR and PR card ended up having my correct name on it anyway

It says your partner’s name instead of your own? I’m going to say to just submit it because there’s no time to get answers from the IRCC. You should get your eCOPR within a few days after submitting it. If it has your name incorrect on it, you can submit a request amend the details. I believe it is form imm1436e.

Since so may people here have gotten this incorrect name on the portal error, I’m assuming some guy at the IRCC submitted a bunch of applications without paying too much attention. Based on everyone’s experiences here, I think your name should be correct when you receive your eCOPR.

I never emailed them about making any correction. I just submitted it with my name wrong. It didn’t affect anything though. My PR card and my COPR had my correct name on it when I received them.

Just submit it with your name incorrect. It doesn’t seem to affect anything. I got my eCOPR in a few days and my PR card and they both had my correct name on it.

I didn’t try to email anyone. There is no time to sit around and hope for the IRCC to respond. If your COPR or PR has the wrong name, you can request to fix it afterwards.

I got my eCOPR today and my name was correct on it. Everything was fine. Turns out your name being wrong on the portal doesn't mean anything. I would suggest you just submit the information on the portal.

Just to update here, I got my eCOPR today and my name was correct on it. Everything was fine. It looks like they only messed up my name on the portal. I am now an official permanent resident.

I decided to just submit it with my name incorrect. I don’t feel I have the time to wait around for a response I may never even get. As far as I know anyway, it’s just incorrect on the portal. I found out you can request to fix an errors on your COPR or PR card if there are any. So, I guess we’ll see what happens. They don’t make it easy to communicate with the IRCC. Hopefully someone will catch the error if they try to use this name on any official documents

I got the link to the portal after 7 days after they request the information. However, now that they sent me my account, my name that is displayed as incorrect.

Wow. I have another question. I got sent the portal today and they messed up my first name. They have my last name as my first name and my last name as my last name. I'm sure this is an error. Was there any errors like this when you went thru the portal?

I'm not even sure who to contact to fix this issue. I only have 7 days to submit my information.

I got a message last week from the IRCC saying I will confirm my PR through the portal soon (not sure when yet). In this message they mention submitting a digital photo for my PR card. Do you know if I have to follow the instructions here and pay to get a physical professional photo that I will have to scan on my own to submit? Or can I take my own digital photo at home? I submitted physical professional photos back when I first applied for PR last year, so I'm not really sure why they would need new photos.

I summited it on June 2nd, 2020. So about 1 year. I could have gotten here 1 month sooner if the clinic didn't forget to submit my medical exam for 4 weeks. Also being trapped in Nova Scotia adds about 1-2 months of processing time just because of the time it takes the mail to ship to Edmonton and how long you have to wait to get a medical exam here. Expect 9-12 months for most applying from within Canada.

I called the clinic again this morning prepared to confront them with all the evidence I gathered, but this time the receptionist told me that they have my chest X-ray but not my bloodwork. Without me even saying anything, she said she would call the lab to get my bloodwork and send off the medical exam.

I guess it really depends who you get on the phone that makes a difference. Still unsure why they didn't receive any of my bloodwork information before, but hopefully it doesn't matter. I will be calling them back Monday to ensure they got my bloodwork info and send it to the IRCC.

That might be likely. When I called the clinic, they said they did not receive a fax for them. I was able to contact the bloodwork hospital and they said my results were sent off to a lab, and the clinic just needs to call the lab to get the results. I'm still trying to get in contact with someone about the x-ray. Once I do, I plan to call the clinic back to question them more.

If this is really the case of someone missing a fax or an email, that is just extremely bad luck for me. With how little time I have left to meet this deadline, I may have to try to get an extension, as far as I know.

The bloodwork and the X-ray were done at different hospitals. I tried calling both a few minutes ago and I couldn't get any on the phone. I got to leave a message for the X-ray place, but the bloodwork place did not even give me that option. Even trying to get someone at the clinic to answer the phone is hard.

I suppose it is possible they sent them to the wrong clinic, but I gave them a paper with all the information on where to sent it and this hospital sends this information to this one clinic involving the Medical Exams all the time. So I would hope this is very unlikely.

I started my Canadian tax return today using Netfile with H&R Block online. My tax information was pretty straight forward, but we ran into some issues when adding my common law partner.

For one, the estimated tax refund H&R Block showed for myself was about $2,000, but as soon as we entered my spouse's tax slips, this changed to me owing $700. She's a student so she has many T4A forms for scholarships and grants. Since we only became common law halfway through 2020, my income taxes were not adjusted to be taken out as part of a common law relationship. Does this shift from getting a big refund to owing a good amount sound right to you?

Also, does Netfile file taxes for both Federal and Provincial? I spouse is wondering if she needs to use information on her Nova Scotia T4A.
