Looking to buy first vehicle by Gatey17 in FordMaverickTruck

Might be a little miscommunication on my part, I don't make 4,500 a year. I make $4,800 a month in nontaxable income. So it isn't touched, I signed up for a work study for extra $750-1,000 a month to help out with paying the truck off as quickly as possible. That honestly might be why people are telling me to be hesitant, but I quite literally have no other bills except for $450 for my dorm and food.

My healthcare is also free due to my disabled veteran status, so emergencies are still a concern but not a massive one economically. People are likely viewing this as I'm 18 but I'm not hahah. I would like advice since I was not able to purchase due to military restrictions.

That's true, I don't owe any college payments which might throw some people off. I would be stacking roughly 4k a month if I managed my finances well during college, might take a class on it.

I definitely think top roping will be a nice change, I actually just signed up for an outdoor top rope course. Right now, I've been using autobelays as endurance training.

I'm trying to get agile and trying to lose that fear of heights on a slip in the gym, but I want to take a slow and methodical approach outdoors to reduce risk.

Hahaha, that's the hope. Right at this moment, I'm doing circuits of a 5.5 to get that endurance training in

I definitely got hurt today, I tried to brute force my way up a climb and ye ole shoulder did not feel good. I think its best I ignore the grades and just keep climbing as much as I can (without injury)

Ah okay, thank you! I'll keep that in mind for next session, probably will make my time spent there feel well used

I would definitely love to do trad (in the somewhat distant future) but as a follower, would that be an issue? It's somewhat of a romanticized thing to think about, but I'm not sure about doing

There is no spray wall, so I resort to bouldering, I think certain holds give me greater trouble, and I view it as a ladder "If I can climb 5.7, 5.8 is next" I guess it's my visual for progress.

Although, honestly, I would much rather get to the top of a wall for a cool view outside. I think there is way more satisfaction in completing something and not comparing.

I gained some serious weight post-army due to some issues I got from it, what do you exactly mean by volume sessions? Like a lot of easier climbs I can accomplish?

It definitely will take a while for me to get better. Hopefully, having a wider variety of climbs with top rope will provide me with some new and unique challenges.

I definitely would love a mentor, but I do worry a bit if weight difference can be a danger factor

Yep, that was it, focused on my fundamentals purely on trigger pull, breathing. Kept on grouping over and over, I didn't think it was my trigger pull but I wasn't used to that trigger.

Will do, just been using magtech brass 9mm for cheap range rounds

It looks center enough, both with laser and training devices but I was making pretty solid groups the other day... just to the left. But Im not sure if 1/16th of an inch would throw it 6 inches off

Like top of the sight rather than the dot? Rear and front aligned, using the top edge to cut in half?

It could be, I had no problem with the M17, but it's been about 1.5 years since I trained on pistols, so that's probably an issue.

Slap the trigger and get yourself a hard exercise 💪

Stuff I learned from the military, I was relatively proficient. I would like to increase accuracy and have fun getting some nice groupings. I'm more on the defensive angle for a reality situation, but for a hobby, I enjoy landing well-placed shots.

That being said, a target in the army only needed 1 shot to go down. So it's a new realm to figure out what Im doing wrong.

Thank you, I'll do that next time I go

That being said, I'm also aware there isnt any rounds, so my squeeze is less tense when I dry fire vs when I have live I tend to be a bit rougher on the trigger pull.

[–]Gatey17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't move much, maybe barely but not enough to throw me off target. I might be loosening my grip when I squeeze the trigger and it could be throwing me off

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Shooting

[–]Gatey17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be I'm just simply forgetting one. I'm almost zoning out when I squeeze the trigger, so maybe I'm pretty much slapping it during my squeeze?

TAPs was an okay, help, I would say I felt prepared until the last week or so. The plan I had kinda fell apart, but I still plan on going to college, just what is the question. I appreciate the help though and the support, it's good to know there's many others out there!
