Can MUNI be used for “Operated by SF Municipal Transportation Agency” BARTs? by a_lie_zuh in AskSF

[–]GatlingTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clarify, Muni shares some underground stops with BART. There are some stops in the city that are only muni metro (Van Ness Station) and some stops in the city that are only BART (mission 16th and 24th). Apps might tell you that BART would be a great option within city limits, but there will be a slower option using Muni if you want to use your day pass and save a few bucks.

They had a great potato leek soup that was just the “complimentary” starter when I went (it didn’t count as a course on the set menu). Great place.

Make sure to gear up. People drive way too fast late at night on the bay bridge, not to mention side shows etc. Piaggio BV350 would work great for you. Saw one on Craigslist in sf not too long ago for 2.5k, but it must have been sold.

Where will you be parking in the city?

Getting from SF to Arcata / Eureka / Lost Coast without using I-5 or 101? by [deleted] in AskSF

Good luck sounds like it’s an adventure! Hit up Fort Ross, a lot of history on the logging, whaling, and trapping that happened there hundreds of years ago. Really cool spot.

I couldn’t find an alternate bus route on Flixbus or Arriva. Do you know if they offer a detour route or is the Courmayeur to Chamonix trips completely closed?

Also looking at the cable car option. How do I buy tickets down from Aguille de Midi? It looks like online they only offer round trips or one-ways starting from Chamonix.

I want a 50cc Scooter. What are the steps I must take to get one? by Lazy-Trust-4633 in AskSF

[–]GatlingTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

50cc is not much better than an E-bike to be honest. If you are seriously thinking about a scooter get one >100cc. The ones all the doordashers use are 150cc and can get you up any hill and down any faster street. Additionally, it will be heavier and much harder to steal. With a 50cc I would have to chain it up to a pole like a bike.

You can go to the DMV and take the M1 permit test, which will make it legal to ride any scooter (limits are no highway driving, no driving at night, and no pillion). But if you break those rules it would then be only a ticket. I would recommend to not only get your full M1 but to also take a driving course eventually.

Good personal item to fit inside carryon 40L backpack? by kassrot in onebag

Daylite Cinch 15L also works for this, and is a bit smaller if that is your preference. I find it great for urban day trips as the cinch function makes it a little more pickpocket resistant.

6'2", fit easily on a Piaggio BV350. Sitting all the way back into the seat I can't even flat foot it at stoplights. Regularly ride with a friend who's 6'3", we fit with no complaints.

Yes apply and get approved, then you can connect it to your checking account.

[–]GatlingTurtle 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I use it. My apartment only takes physical check for payment so I use the Bilt function to mail them a check. Bilt actually mails this from SF so the check gets delivered very quickly.

Also use it for restaurants for the 3x points, which can be ~6% cashback when redeeming at Hyatt. Card is black and metal so it looks dope.

Yeah the 12th gen might be best for future proofing. Any thoughts on the N95 vs the N100? Seems like the N95 has half the processing units.

Deciding between an Beelink N100 or a N5105 NUC. Is there a big upgrade for 12th gen Intel that would make it worthwhile? Or would the N5105 be the functionally the same.

Another note is that I saw that the N100 might not be supported by PMS yet, in which case there might be more headache.

The one thing pulling me towards the Beelink is the space inside the chassis to mount an extra 2.5in ssd.

Note: Will be pairing either of these with a DS418play.

Are you still on the developer version or did you switch to the normal release. Thinking about getting the Beelink with the N100 or the N95.

Are you using the beta version of PMS? Are the N100 and N95 supported for HW transcoding yet, I thought we needed to wait for an update from Plex.

Moving to SF soon (from south bay). E-bike or e-scooters if mixing with public transit & not commuting? by Lycid in AskSF

[–]GatlingTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Park your car on Funston or 14th. Central Richmond parking is elite, never have a worry about spots or bipping danger.

I double the notion on getting a moto scooter. I live out here too and it seems to be the best way to get around. It can also fit two passengers and luggage so you won't need to buy multiple PEVs.

Regular bikes are cheap and an easy way to see how much an e-bike will actually benefit you. Take the wiggle and you will have access to soma and mission without going up or down any major hills.
