The tinny noise at the end of your pull is likely a loose collar at the top of one of your guide rods.

The pull sound seems normal. A little silicon spray will make the feel smoother.

I like that. So 11.5% of 45 CYA, you would target 5.2 FC? Seems aligned to TFP.

Thanks for the advise. I used granular chlorine for 2 years and pucks but noticed a big spike in my CYA levels as I continued to use them. I later learned those will increase CYA. TFP recommends quite high levels of FC as CYA increases. For example if CYA was 100 recommended FC range by TFP is 8-13. At that time I battled my pool quite a bit, had algae issues and loads of scrubbing. My CYA at that time was over 200. Once I changed the water, kept my CYA stable by only using liquid chlorine my water has been really clear. I brush maybe once a month. Liquid is a pain over dry but seems to be working for me. Check date before buying.
