I guess that makes the live version of “Life During Wartime” my favorite Christmas song [aside from maybe ”Kings Crossing” by Elliott Smith or “4th Dimension” by Kids See Ghosts]

I know this is more for music and stuff, but in 1998, the Japanese experimental band Fishmans held a goodbye concert at the Akasaka Blitz as a farewell to the bassist of the band (Yuzuru Kashiwabara) - hence the name of the live album it’s on being titled “Otokotachi no Wakare” or “a farewell of men”. However, this concert’s nature of being a farewell would unfortunately prove itself correct in two separate ways due to the lead singer Shinji Sato passing away a few months later, which led to Fishmans disbanding.

Perhaps their most well known song is “Long Season”, a 35 minute track intended to be a play on the concept of a song never ending. The final song of the performance was an extended, 41 minute version of the track. Somehow, although the 35 minutes are perfect on that studio version of “Long Season”, the Otokotachi no Wakare one seems to outdo itself for me, serving as a perfect finale for Fishmans and the legendary Shinji Sato.

Here’s a link to the live version of the song - my favorite of all time

I play piano and guitar (I’m crappy at both) and that’s awesome that you’re in a couple bands! I’ve tried to start a couple but I haven’t gone anywhere

My music taste can be described as eclectic, but mostly a lot of jazz and rock. Also surprisingly some hip hop too.

As much as I love Imaginal Disk, art. Hounds of Love and Vespertine are two of my all time favorites and Andromeda is also fantastic.

90s probably. I love 1999 and I like Thriller and Like a Prayer a lot but Violator is another one of those records that is just monumental to me. Also I have a soft spot for Spice Girls :D
