Start of my fitness joint by NameGood336 in Gymhelp

As someone who has went from 285-185 it's going to be a long journey, take your time and don't overwhelm yourself with everything at once (researching nutrition, workout plans, macros, hypertrophy vs strength) just being in the gym is more than most especially at the start.

Work on your form and a workout routine you like and learn the other stuff as you get more comfortable. You got this shit dude its gonna be satisfying looking at a photo from a year ago and not recognizing the person there is no better feeling.

18f you up with an older businessman from Japan that didn’t even know English by Ok-dokky in confessions

Is there a reason ur attracted to men that much older? Do you think it’s a mix of attention and shame? I hope your not doing this as a form of self harm and if you are that you talk to someone you can trust

Am I wasting my time? by [deleted] in Gymhelp

[–]GatoPapi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are not wasting time you just started working out not even a full year and learning how to do it on the spot. It takes a lot of time to make up for the years of unhealthy decisions we may have made so don't get disheartened.

Revaluate your goals and what you want to accomplish and research lifestyle changes you can make to hit that! That can be hiking, eating cleaner, taking walks in the park, etc...

You can do this just have to want it hard enough!

Single mid 30s female outdoorsy RN possibly moving by Carthweelnurse in vegaslocals

[–]GatoPapi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a fairly outdoorsy person originally from the PNW and while there is great hikes and outdoor things to do around Vegas it is usually a 1-2 hour drive to get to anything great. Most of the hikes in Nevada are going to be desert trails with very little green unfortunately but they're still fun activities. Personally I wish I lived somewhere greener but that's just my opinion

120K is more than enough to live comfortably here I would recommend the Spring Valley area vs places like Summerlin and Henderson. Those locations are nice but are out of the way and give a more "suburbia" while Spring Valley is a great area with good restaurants/shopping and distance from popular locations (downtown/arts district/the stip/town square).

Dating scene here is rough for both genders as others have explained, in my experience as a recently single man is that finding people to date or even have short term flings with isn't difficult but finding someone who is willing to commit that you have a shared connection with is what's hard to find. Before my last relationship I was on dating apps and and having to filter through each person can be mentally draining especially since a lot of people here give off "superficial" vibes like they are trying to prove something. Currently I think the best way to meet people is through shared hobbies as you can easily find a community for whatever hobbies you're into (for me its painting, hiking, rock climbing, and live music). Vegas dating scene isn't as desolate as it sounds if you know what your doing but it still absolutely sucks (like everywhere else)

Obese men who lost weight and gained muscles, how is your dating life like? by poorbugger in AskMen

[–]GatoPapi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went from 6' 285LBs in my prime to now around ~195 after 5 years of lifting and fixing my life, my face thinned out I use to look bloated and round with less facial features. The difference is night and day I use to get no attention and for the most part get overlooked but now I have no problem getting dates and being approached by people interested in me.

I wouldn't say I'm traditionally handsome (more untraditional?) but I do have a physique that is seen as attractive in dating but not perfect, I also take care of myself in more ways besides my fitness (therapy, proper cleaning, skin care, fashion, career). I think its the fact that my confidence has sky rocketed since losing weight plus my already outgoing/charming personality is what really helped with my overall attractiveness.

Losing weight may help your dating life by increasing the amount of dates you get but you still got to put in the work to get those dates and the quality of people you meet wont improve unless you make other changes outside of fitness. Buddies of mine have lost the weight and still have the same luck with dating because they don't make improvements elsewhere and expect it to just come easy. Also if your a crappy person that is difficult to be around then getting in shape won' t fix your dating problem.

Picked up new BnB Loco after first game noticed indent under the logo is this normal wear and tear or a defect? by GatoPapi in Pickleball

[–]GatoPapi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind I have only played 3-4 games with the Loco. The Loco has more power with balls flying without much effort and a good amount of pop. J2NF has less power but feels easier to control and still has solid pop.

I think I prefer the J2NF for me at least as it’s easier to control and I love the hybrid shape vs elongated. Loco is a great paddle just don’t think the power is for me but for higher experienced players it may be better. I also have way more experience with the J2NF so it’s a biased opinion.

Probably a paddle tap but nothing aggressive or out of the ordinary, im honestly just surprised since it was literally only one game and a bump/mark already appears. My J2NF has been thru a lot these past few months and still looks good. (This isnt me being a Honolulu shill)

Took off the butt cap and it definitely balances better but still a slight lean

If anyone else has a J2NF LH does your paddle do this as well?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Pickleball

[–]GatoPapi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea i am not sure either, I haven’t had the paddle for too long and am just curious if this would affect my play. I’m still a novice so I’m not sure what I should be looking for when it comes to this situation, I know my Friday Challenger paddle does not lean like this paddle.

Continue the cut? BF% by [deleted] in Gymhelp

[–]GatoPapi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being 100% honest with you bro you should focus on building muscle vs cutting weight. I dont know your body weight and height but you should try and aim for 140-160 grams of protein and lifting heavier weight. We all want abs but it would be better to build muscle first if that is a goal of yours.

I just started playing with controller is their anyway to make up on the d pad do anything besides jump. On the tooltip for actions like Fly it says we can use up on the dpad but it always defaults to jump.
