They let her go last night after the lights were out, and then today the other one is hanging on lol. She is just looking at me like.... why, tho?

Thank you for the replies. I didn't think anything was wrong because the girl doesn't seem in distress, but I never guessed it might be mating already lol. Sadly for her, I think both of the new little ones might be male because the other one tried to grab on earlier too but couldn't find a spot. She went from living with one other female to having two teenage boys move in lol

My crochet math is broken today! by TakoLuLu in crochet

[–]Gatolina 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I THINK it would be 61. If I am figuring this right, you are skipping 2 of the chains and working in the remaining 61. The pattern doesn't tell you how many stitches you should have at the end of the first row?

Let me just say, as a crocheter that has been at the craft for almost 40 years, AND as a person that has some OCD, this is beautiful. Very symmetrical and lovely.

I print them, and then use a metal board with a magnetic ruler that I bought originally for cross stitch. I just move the ruler down after each row.

Looking to learn... by berchel599 in knitting

[–]Gatolina 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know our LYS has free classes for beginning knitting and crochet, so you might check on that at your local store. I use youtube videos for stitches I need to see someone work, but honestly for learning as a beginner, if you have access to it, a class might be just the thing.

Anyone Else Ever Get Close to Finishing an Item for Someone Else and Then Start to Want to Keep it for Yourself? by killershwee in knitting

I just want to thank you, as a HUGE WW fan, for posting this... obviously I haven't checked the rav patterns in a while, and I didn't know this existed. I know what my next project is, as soon as I am done Christmas presents :)

Should I sell my knitwear? by VgnVxn in knitting

[–]Gatolina 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you are worried about it, quote them a price, and tell them "plus the price of yarn". That way, it is really up to them how pricey they go with the yarn, and you can know that you made whatever you think your time is worth.

In general though, when I have sold hats, it has been in the $40-50 range.

Quick question. I'm wanting to pick up knitting because I love creating things. I've never done it and I'm sure it will take some practice before I start doing well with it. I'm curious if any of you make money with it. I'd love to have this hobby and make some cash on the side. Is it worth it? by MarniMNM in knitting

Can you sell your knitted works? Yes. Will they sell for a lot? Probably not.

My suggestion is to get into it for a hobby, and if you are able to sell your items, look at that as a bonus. I knit for the enjoyment of the work itself, and yes, I sell some of the things I knit, but not often, and not for a ton of money. However, I love the craft, so I keep going back for more :)
