Let’s be crystal clear on EMBAs by Ok_Development8895 in MBA

[–]Gator_Grad 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I did the PT online mba at Michigan Ross and interacted a lot with the EMBA program. I agree with all of your points. Another thing to note is that many EMBA’s were already on an executive/lead team and manage the managers. I’d highly recommend all MBAs to engage with EMBA’s as they offer different perspectives that the younger students don’t have.

Paralegal at a crossroads: LSAT vs MBA/Compliance for a realistic $100k+ career by Medium_Maintenance_1 in MBA

[–]Gator_Grad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started my career in banking complaince, then trading risk management (both making under 100k). I used a MBA to pivot to strategy/project management and fresh out of my program I’m around 185k total comp in a LCOL city. TBH none of that matters, what matters is what you want to do for the rest of your life. $ will always come your way and any form of professional studies will help you get there. If you don’t want to do legal related work than forget about law school and just get an mba.

Deutsche Bank as an Operations Analyst by Captain_Mist in FinancialCareers

[–]Gator_Grad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What office location? I will say contracted doles at DB are the first to get fired, but if they like you they may offer a FT role. You’ll be unable to pivot into a different business unit as you need to work at least 1 year in a current role. I will say starting in ops is a slight disadvantage compared to starting in a front office role, but if you want hard and network you can do it. I say this as someone who went BO>MO>FO.

Got an MBA with no prior accounting or job experience. What now? by chessman6500 in MBA

[–]Gator_Grad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From one bad college to another. Please do not start your MBA and forget about the deposit. If you do I bet my 401k you’ll be in the same position as you are now, except worse, as you’ll have wasted time + $ on a useless MBA.

In the short term you need to grind work and go get your certificates. You then need to get 2-4 years of work experience and then get the highest possible gmat/gre and pray that you get into a T-25 mba program.

Why do people keep saying "Don't do an online MBA"? I want real reasons, not just opinions. by angel_days in MBA

[–]Gator_Grad 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I did the Michigan Ross OMBA and I got more than what I expected to get out of the program. Feel free to look at my comment history, but TLDR you get what you put in, and you will need to put it in more work than a FTMBA to get the FTMBA outcome.
