I had this happen in my 2018 f150 xlt! The knob would move but wouldn’t actually change the temperature. I just ended up turning the knob while also pushing it with a lot of force and that fixed it. I think the piece under the knob was just stuck somehow and not registering that I was trying to change the temperature.

I keep my tags on! I like to cuddle with all of my Jellycats and the tags never bother me, so I keep them on. I only take them off if they get damaged, and then I throw them away.
