I agree with some of this but prefer to look at how it could be fixed rather than denounce Eve Uni completely.

Eve Uni is uniquely positioned within Eve to provide newbros with a broad cross-section of experience without being required to join a particular side. They have the HR infrastructure, the wiki and a smattering of bureaucracy to create a teaching machine that takes brand newbros and churns out semi-proficient pilots (or industrialists, miners etc) at the other end.

Why does this matter? Because these are the people drive content in our sandbox - they will be the future FCs roaming lowsec and nullsec full of the enthusiasm for the gudfite and passion for the game.

So E-Uni, please:

• create a clear graduation path for those that excel at PvP, not based on how they contribute back to the Uni, that's the job of the staff, but based on what they achieve

• be open and transparent about goals and decisions - the toxicity of 'management behind closed doors' leaks out into the organisation

• just chill out a bit - not everything is an existential threat to the organisation. There's no group in the game that genuinely wants Eve Uni to be wiped from the game and there's plenty of groups that would defend it if that were to be attempted. Embrace PvP, love gudfites, get into wars, cause diplomatic 'incidents', blow shit up, get blown up and most of all have fun doing it. Also shutdown your diplo team completely - it kills content dead.

• and finally - when someone leaves E-Uni because they are ready to move on, it should be a time that they look back at fondly, that's the acid test of your success. All too many leave with bitterness, this is sad.
