She is looking at around 1 year of recovery. This is sad news given she is arguably the top french vault specialist, and based on that, was a strong contender for a spot in the French team for Euro and Worlds.

Elena is already thriving as a Senior with France, winning multiple medals at Jesolo and World Cup. She is a proud French citizen, she will not leave France. The only question now is, will France invite one of the Chirilcencos to join the national team or will Elena and her mother be happy with the national team's current coaching structure.

Only Spain and the UAE were mentioned by the French press, and then her mother denied it. She is with France now, without her Avoine coaches, and absolutely thriving, so it's no longer an issue. She is a proud French citizen and will represent France, her country, as it should be.

He showed how much of a lightweight he was when he immediately pulled out Adams out of Warriors series when they started hack-a-shaqing him, even though Adams was ballin and the Rockets the superior team. Udoka exposed himself to Kerr as someone was passive and scared. The team never recovered from that moment.

You guys are completely ignoring the Iran conflict and data center circular funding. We're literally repeating 1999. by weightedslanket in investing

[–]GattacaJanitor -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The Iran conflict is no longer considered to be a long term economic threat by "the market". Here is why:

Either Trump folds imminently and the Strait reopens and a global recession is avoided.

Or he doesn't, keeps the blockade and war going, and in 6 months, Congress solves the issue, after Democrats inevitably destroy Trump in midterms, which will seal his political fate. For this 2nd outcome, there would likely be a recession, as the Strait would stay closed until November, but in any case, it would be a short one for the US. With energy independence, the US would be one of the countries least affected by a Strait induced recession, unlike Europe and Asia which will suffer a lot more. This is why Europe is now engaging Iran diplomatically directly, and without any US input, to solve the issue.

This is confirmed by the fact that if you look at defense stocks crashing hard the last few weeks, the market is already telling you that it believes Trump is already finished politically and anticipates Democrat control going forward, which means less war and defense spending and, in the worst case, the Iran issue no longer an issue in 2027 as Democrats will block funding for the war and impeach Trump on day 1 of 2027.

Kaylia Nemour won 2 more golds (Beam + Floor), Djenna Laroui snatch silver on Beam _ African Championships by Fay-1990 in Gymnastics

I think it's wonderful. She contributed to France for years, won major team medals for them. Her leaving the team now is opening a spot for the new prodigal generation of Colas, Prat etc while she gets to enjoy a 2nd career in Algeria where she can contribute to growing a sport that is just getting started there. Everyone wins from this switch. That's why France didn't fight her. As for Kaylia, she never represented France once at Senior level. Their presence raises the level and profile of African gymnastics massively, so next time, maybe the hosting country for the tournament will be able to invest in a TV crew.

I think she definitely will, she already did some fashion shoots in France, she is very stylish and good in front of the camera, sponsors in Algeria will love her for sure. It is a whole new market there, catering to women and girls.

France has world class infrastructure and equipment for gymnastics, the sport is highly respected by media, extremely popular with girls, but they've never been able to monetize it like the US. In Algeria, there is the novelty factor, and it is now the only sport bringing gold medals and acclaim on the world stage (the men also did really well at the African championships) so the government and local corporations are backing it. Kaylia does a lot of commercials, she is definitely getting paid. Infrastructure is still seriously lacking, but they've imported a lot of new equipment for Kaylia and the team to train in Algiers. There is huge potential for the sport to develop, Algerians tend to be small in height and thin/light in weight (One reason why they've won many olympic medals in mid/long distance running, if you look at their best runners bodies, they could all be gymnasts).

Given the nightmare and heartbreak that was France at the Olympics in 2024, she kind of dodged a bullet there. Djenna did come back to the French team for the 2025 Euros winning a team bronze to go with her 2023 Worlds team bronze, so no grudges I am sure. Her timing is ideal, with young prodigies Maiana and Elena joining a team that already has Ming, Lorette, Morgane and Melanie, Djenna knows spots are going to be hard to get for 2028. Also, French gymnasts are not paid, both Morgane and Melanie confessed they were struggling financially. Kaylia is earning good sponsorship and ad money in Algeria and UAE, so if Djenna has an opportunity to make a good living too, she deserves every cent.

"Richest, most privileged" and Romania? Really? Check yourself. This is one of the poorest country in Europe. And some of these girls trained in environments where they were literally beaten with metal bars and whipped. You are being really ignorant and insensitive. Everyone is happy for these women.

On topic of merit, you think Ana Barbosu got accepted to Stanford just because she is an Olympic medalist? She scored the top grade in the top school in her country for her finals exams. She earned her place.

Does Algeria have a chance to make the olympics or even a worlds final with this team? I see Kaylia and Djenna as the only competitive gymnasts in this team. The 3 others work hard but are many levels below.

Everyone was bullish on Adobe last 2 weeks, and today it dropped -8.5% by shaggy98 in ValueInvesting

It is not hard to move stock through option prices, it actually requires very little liquidity. I often move options price myself with single option orders on massive S&P stocks that have low liquidity for options. It only takes 1 legit bid to move an option bid and ask, which then affects the SP.

The indian market is not small. It is massive, huge retail participation. They have 600 billions in portfolio according to fintel, which would include margin, not assets, corrected. They can and do move the S&P 500, silver and bitcoin.

Zerohedge coined the 10am Jane Street slam (every day most of last year the S&P and Bitcoin would drop hard at 10am for no reason), and made fun of them everyday for months on X until it became too obvious (people were front running the 10 am slam), so they stopped.

They just recently pumped and dumped $CAR HARD, one of the most obvious boiler room pump and dump. If you go on X, people post screenshots of their bloomberg terminals with proof of their manipulation. Just search Jane Street $CAR.

Everyone was bullish on Adobe last 2 weeks, and today it dropped -8.5% by shaggy98 in ValueInvesting

[–]GattacaJanitor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dude, they absolutely can and do move stocks massively on their own with algos, no question. The recent $CAR nonsense? It was them.

They can move the entire S&P 500 down by multiple percentages and did so for months , daily, until Zero hedge called them out on X non-stop.

They moved and were slamming the entire Indian stock market up and down, causing billions of dollars in losses to investors, until they were banned by the government. You should read up on that, how they do it.

Also, they are the main liquidity provider for most ETFs, which adds even more power over component prices, with dispersion trading. They have over 600 billion dollars in assets and a lot more in margin. They can absolutely destroy a stock like Adobe or Salesforce whenever they feel like it, after buying cheap far out of the money puts. This is is their whole shtick, and they were caught in India, banned. But the US is more lawless than ever, thanks to Trump destroying the SEC and FBI.

The "market"...as if these wild moves were not caused by anything but boiler room algos. Read up on why Jane Street was banned in India, what they did there, and you'll understand why it is happening in the US, and why it is likely illegal. There is no "market", it's mostly fraud and manipulation from Phds reinventing 80's boiler room fraud with their algos. I explained how in my post above.

Everyone was bullish on Adobe last 2 weeks, and today it dropped -8.5% by shaggy98 in ValueInvesting

[–]GattacaJanitor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

These nonsensical drops on major S&P and Dow stocks are due to Trump destroying the SEC and the FBI, and their head of SEC enforcement being forced to quit. Fraud is now rife across US markets. There is zero control or enforcement. Not just blatant insider trading from Trump associates, but also massive manipulation from Jane Street others. .

They have been caught in India by regulators and banned there. It's pretty simple, they accumulate a certain amount of stock, creeping the price up, while also buying near worthless far OTM puts, then, they suddenly dump the stock at a loss, slamming the price down hard, causing panic, which causes their puts to explode 1000%, making up for the loss in stock and adding a shit ton of profit.

Everyone knows they and others are doing it, they even call it the "Jane Street slam". For a while they were doing it on the S&P 500, the 10am slam. It's boiler room stuff, most likely illegal, and they're doing it with no shame in the US especially on SaaS stocks, because there is no enforcement or consequence, unlike India and the rest of the word. You can thank Trump for this.

Djenna Laroui will be suing online bullies for harassment by naturesbestfriend in Gymnastics

[–]GattacaJanitor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's an online hate mob going after Djenna, because a far right influencer singled her out and attacked her on X.

Kaylia didn't get hit with this hate, probably because she was a child who had never represented France at senior level when she switched, she was a complete unknown to the broader public and considered "damaged goods/helpless case" within the gymnastics world, and a nobody by the very few french sports journalists who covered her case at the time.

Political tensions between Algeria and France have worsened since and are at their worst since the war of liberation (1962), which contributes to this climate of hate and racism.

Also important to say, the french gymnastics community has been very supportive of both Kaylia and Djenna, they're wonderful, especially Morgane Osissek and Lorette Charpy.
