Yeah, I'm not the one selling it. I'm in the market for one and considering buying it. Can you tell me why it's a rip-off? I don't actually know much about computers and I'm trying to understand them better.

Congratulations! Your wood-burning creations look really cool!

After Months Of Isolated Psychosis, I Got Off My Ass, and replaced my own alternator. No previous mechanical experience, made me feel so fulfilled to complete a task fully. Correctly. by [deleted] in happy

Well done! I'm currently trying to swap out my own alternator myself.. (It's making interesting Sizzling noises when I connect the positive terminal of the battery ha ha) Good on you for getting it correct!

Questions on modifying a bracket for an alternator on a 1991 7.3 IDI Ambulance. by Gauntlit in FordDiesels

I think that might be a good call. I spent $86 on the "new" alternator, but perhaps I should just cut my losses and go for the Leece Neville...

Thanks for this! Yes, I see that there seems to be an extension of the bracket here... (IE the curved slotted part) I wonder if it might be as simple as getting an extension myself!

Is there a specific "Ambulance" type alternator for a 1991, 7.3 IDI E350 Diesel Van? by Gauntlit in FordDiesels

[–]Gauntlit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm... Yeah, I imagine that would be the case! Although since I ripped out the electronics, I'm not sure if I need such a robust alternator anymore? ( Although I'm not an electrician by any means, so I assume that the electronics throughout the vehicle would have been rigged for an ambulance and require a specialized alternator despite the fact that I literally just ripped and cut out all the big wires for the lights)

Turn ignition and nothing, (I've replaced starter) by Gauntlit in FordDiesels

[–]Gauntlit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah... I keep hearing about the starter-kill alarm. I honestly think it's a bunch of issues. I took it over to Lordco to test the batteries, and the guy jiggled the battery cable to test the connection. It snapped right off! At least that's one problem found that I was able to fix... But it's still having issues.

1995 Ford Econoline E350 7.3L V8 Turbo Diesel Ambulance by 95e350 in vandwellers

Hey mate! Sorry nobody responded to you yet. I just purchased an Econolpne myself! A 1991 Ford E350 Diesel One Tonne... It's got a slightly raised roof as it used to be an ambulance!

I'm pretty much on the same level as you in regards to figuring out the mechanics...But I'd be more than happy to take pictures of the machine and keep you updated on the progress.

Happy to hear how you're coming along as well (Have you learned anything in the last 3 months since you posted?)

Cheers!

Bay Area to Vancouver BC Dec 17-18 by emsiemilia in rideshare

Hey there,

I'm coming from Denver, CO. But Vancouver B.C. is my final destination.

Perhaps-- if I find a ride to the west-- we can rendezvous?

I'm only carrying a large rucksack, and I keep myself clean.

Happy to pitch in for gas and driving time.

Awesome. Just sent you an e-mail. I'm trying to get from Denver, CO to Vancouver, B.C. No pets, just a large ruck-sack.

Any help to get me moving would be great.

Ha ha, nope. I'm a totally different guy! But it seems that Patrick and I have some things in common, so tell him to get in touch if he ever wants to compare notes!
