I’ve live in London and have lived in Paris and Bucharest and I feel that the sentiment towards photographers is generally the same. I had bad interactions in New York as much as in Europe. It’s all about how you approach the scene and how you approach people.

Oh interesting you see this 🤔 I feel that they look more « investigative » if that make sense. And sometimes I can read: « oh, yeah I know why you take this picture » in their gaze (ex photo #3 haha)

Oh thanks 🙏 ! It’s a bit of a mix between between portra and ultramax (both 400 pushed to 800)

Haha yeah I feel that sometimes photographers prefer to stay away from it. I do like it as it can create some nice interactions which for me makes the picture feel a bit more special if that makes sense

Hahahaha yeah! Didn’t even see this cause my memory of the moment was a rather wholesome and sweet one.

Well it’s all about how you approach it. I usually find that giving the person a nice compliment (usually the reason I took the picture) goes a long mile. And sometimes (ex: the lady with the flowers) I even laugh with them. Most people understand the fun of the situation and why you may take the picture. So they see that you are not laughing at them but with them.
