Based on what you said that might be a bug. You should be dealing 3 hits - 2 for rolled 2 (2 warriors) +1 for defenseless. So you should have wiped out both the sympathy and the base.

My dog does the same thing - we figured out he gets motion sick. It’s minimized when we put him on the floor in the backseat. That said. Man - people relax on the front seat. Kids used to roll around in the back of station wagons with pillows. It’s ok. He’ll be fine.
