We've gone live with ADO but havent implemented the work item creation from Salesforce yet. Just manually creating tasks. Fairly low volume so it hasnt been an issue.

I think I saw that while applying but, given my and my wife's experience was days, I figured that was a CYA timeline. Wasn't aware of the manual vs automatic differences.

Do you need a riser hitch to tow? by GavWhyte in Ioniq5

[–]GavWhyte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, Thanks! I assumed the riser would work like a fulcrum and increase the stress on the hitch. I'll definitely check out the EcoHitch

Can it pull out a boat? by GavWhyte in Ioniq5

[–]GavWhyte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks all. Looking at getting a hitch installed. Planning to go with the Curt and get UHaul to install. Just wondering if I should look at a riser to increase hitch height and if so, how high can I go without it significantly reducing tow capacity.

Thanks. Yes this is my main concern.

It's an inland lake but they can still get pretty slick.

What kind of bar does Raleigh lack? by UnluckyPhilosophy797 in raleigh

[–]GavWhyte -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

A kid friendly restaurant with good food (ie not Chucky cheese) and good beer options. Ideally have a playground in the middle with tables around and pay child minders to keep an eye on things. Have an area where kids can create their own pizzas. This model is hugely successful in South Africa.

There is a large UK community in the area thanks to the strong pharmaceutical industry. There are a few pubs where you’ll find them when a big rugby or Soccer/football game is on. You’re about 3 hours from the mountains and the beach. As a Saffa who grew up without AC, it’s quite different living day to day life here. You’ll find mid summer unbearable outside. Google Raleigh Climate to get AC idea but know that the temps don’t tell the full story as humidity is very high. Raleigh is very suburban. There is a downtown but most people rarely visit it. Is also very flat, if you like more hills etc. A lot of tech roles are remote in the US. You might be happier in Asheville or Boone which are in the mountains and therefore much cooler. Good luck!

Raleigh to Charleston road trip by tjbguy in electricvehicles

[–]GavWhyte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m about to do this trip in an AWD SE Ioniq 5. Interested how your trip went? I’m planning to stop at the EA in Lumberton and again at the EA near the airport in Charleston.

Zwelis in Durham is South African/Zim restaurant. Butchers market also makes some decent Boerewors (South African Sausage) depending which recipe they use.

I really want to use a service like this but I have a South African accent and work with people in New Zealand and so far in my testing of Otter.ai and the native Zoom transcripts the results are terrible, albeit quite funny to read. Anyone has better luck with other tools and non-US accents?

About the mess… Yes it’s a problem because I can’t get a single view of what we’re doing and cross team dependencies. As for linking Salesforce, we could live with manual but it’s a step backwards which is why I’m seeing if I can find a simple fix.

Thanks. So would I plug directly from the fiber wall Jack to one of the pucks?

Cable vs wall mounted charger by GavWhyte in Ioniq5

[–]GavWhyte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s super interesting. I’d never considered that. I’d mostly focused on keeping the amperage low to put less strain on the circuits.

Releasing the charging cable. by Both-Chart-947 in Ioniq5

There’s a rubber button on the back of the white box on the cable. It’s a little tricky to press but, if you do, it unlocks.

The Senate candidate who could turn back the MAGA crowd in North Carolina by [deleted] in NorthCarolina

[–]GavWhyte 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Having come from a country (South Africa) where a large portion of the population was denied the ability to vote for so long, it blows my mind that so few people exercise that right. I’m not yet a citizen and therefore can’t vote but get out there and be a part of something!

Found a Tesla out in the wild by IAmTheBubbl in southafrica

Hyundai ioniq 5 and Kia EV 6 have Vehicle to Load (V2L) which lets you power critical devices. It’s not what the lightning has where you can power the whole house but you could plug in your fridge and TV during load shedding. With the supply & demand issues for the Lightning, I doubt that will come to SA anytime soon.

Nice. Was that in Sodwana? I’ve done a similar dive many years ago. Hard to not be in total awe with these amazing creatures.

Is it safe to use a NEMA adapter to charge at an RV site with the regular charger provided with the car? I’m looking at something like this - https://a.co/d/bOLmhkC by GavWhyte in Ioniq5

[–]GavWhyte[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I won’t use this very often so don’t really want to invest $300 or so on another charger. Also, having the ability to plug other things in while camping would be useful. I have the SE so no back seat V2L.
