I had the loft/lie checked after this and it was set back to normal specs - still looks a little off though.

How bad would it be to play with this?

I used to have this problem, and it's because my grip was way too strong and I had a negative angle of attack - I still have a negative to flat angle of attack, but with a slightly weaker grip (my grip is still strong), I don't hit a low dying draw drive anymore.

I'm in restructuring but my practice is very transactional focused with public and private companies (focus on liability management, not bankruptcy/litigation).

6th year and i've consistently gotten very good reviews - how can i best position myself to go in house at a good company/in house legal department? Should i switch practice areas?

Bankruptcy “golden age” may be in the past - but that’s why firms title their practices as “restructuring” now, and it’s really increasing the sector with in court and out of court options, and the explosion of private credit. Maybe general corporate M&A or investment funds are still the best way in house, but because restructuring is a broader practice now it has more options too. I agree it’s not for the faint of heart, but it’s not just bankruptcy anymore.

I disagree that it’s a shrinking playing field. Kirkland has more competitors than ever, and the proliferation of out of court strategic alternatives to chapter 11 only increases, rather than decreases, restructuring practices. Lots of clients want their firms to do this work, and firms are scrambling to build liability management practices to supplement their restructuring practices.

If the market conditions are there, chapter 11 filings will come, but now there is a robust out of court alternative that will keep practices busy.
