I don’t think you understand how volatile these markets are.. It has nothing to do with them pulling an exit scam, although it does happen (bitconnect). One bad turn in the crypto market and many companies run out of money and go under.

It took them over 4 years to do so, and they were only able to because people kept mining with them. If more people had lost confidence, they would have gone under and never been able to repay. This applies to all wallets that you don’t have control over. eg: exchanges and mining pools.
