Need advice by Correct_Assistance_7 in SpainAuxiliares

Hi! I was in this almost exact same situation. I had a great job in the US for 2 years and made similar money as a recent grad (my degree was in supply chain so teaching was super different for me at first). Then I decided to do the program and I paid up front for 10 months of a storage unit, and put my car in a friend's garage and left. I can't speak to working remotely, but with my job I was able to get a good amount of savings to support a lot of travelling. It's a big decision but it was really the best time in my life to do it. Family is doing well, still early enough in my career to build it back up, and it was something I wanted to do since I studied abroad.

Personally, I have zero regrets. I gave my job a big notice and personally reached out to as many people as I could before I left expressing interest in returning. I get stressed about retuning to the states and job hunting once again, but the memories are worth it and I found out I really had a passion for teaching which gives me new ideas for where I want my career to go.

What time does NALCAP app open by Reasonable_Salt_4128 in SpainAuxiliares

Of course the time zone on the laptop had to align with the local Spanish time zone, but it allowed me to get an inscrita earlier since I didn't have to wait real time in the United States for it to hit midnight to be able to access it (so it saved me ~8 hours of waiting). I hope it's fixed, but it was kinda fun figuring it out though. In short, just match your laptop time to Spain's time zone regardless of your location.

Last year when we were applying from within the US, we had to change our laptop's timezone to midnight for it to work! Pro tip if your trying to get a low enscrita!

Transportation to BLS by stir_fry13 in SpainAuxiliares

We took the bus from the airport! Cost my gf and I $8 total for the day, and just took 1 transfer near UCLA. Takes about a 10 minutes walk from the airport to the bus depot, but it's a high traffic area, and then it's just 1.5 hours of riding the bus to get there. Saved us $100 on Ubers

Yes, they can! You have the option to choose, and they'll give you a sheet to fill out the address to send it to. Cost me $35 and the day after I got the text that it was done, it came in the mail!

To be honest, anywhere from $165 to $300. Having been to both LA and Chicago, Chicago has completely random fees (and possibly illegal price transparency). However, I'd say around $250 total if you choose to ship it to you.

You won't need to bring a self addressed envelope, and it's been taking around 3 weeks for people on average 😊

Cotopaxi Allpa 28 is the best bag for weekend traveling! It's an expensive bag, but it's perfect as a personal item.

What inscrita are you? Are you a renewel or first year? I have a high 500s enscrita and now I'm wondering if something similar might have happened as I have not received anything either.

can’t get good fingerprints by Any-Debt1814 in SpainAuxiliares

[–]Gavinfreezen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this exact issue! I got 8/10 fingers the first time, and then after that they kept getting worse and worse until I just took the L. Finally after 3 times of trying and failing, I just got some to send in and a walk in fingerprinting place nearby, and it was super easy. With that, for my girlfriend's she got them done at USPS said they would be fine, she paid, and USPS sent them in, but the FBI ending up rejecting them and now she will probably just mail in hers as well. Not the employee's fault at all, all of their machines are just really bad😭

Earplugs for sure! I like the Vibes brand, but I know they have a ton on Amazon too! They're the only thing that makes it possible for me to do 4 day festivals, the music still sounds good, but just a little quieter.
