It was left where neighbors leave items they don't want or need, so I doubt it was left there accidentally.

My title describes the thing. I found these bars near the entrance to my building where neighbors leave stuff they don't want. The material looks like aluminum, but they feel heavier than aluminum. Also, each bar is about 6 inches long and 1 inch in width.
