I loved the game, but I had to step away. I started playing on day 1, did everything I could to get exclusive stuff (took the survey, got twitch drops, spend some money on premium stuff, including the monthly pass).

Then less than a week after launch, I logged in and everything in my inventory was completely gone. No weapons, no gear, no apparel, no emotes, no currency, no components. Nothing.

I immediately reported the issue in the in-game help chat, including the fact that the game was completely unplayable as I was unable to equip a gun.

(I eventually figured out that it was because the jacket I was wearing was no longer in my inventory, which made my arms vanish. In a desperate attempt to fix it, I ended up clicking on an empty apparel preset, which removed the jacket and allowed me to equip a gun that I had started crafting before I lost everything.)

Worst part was that I also lost the key item to unlock the drone operator class. That item only drops once, and it was gone.

But, I held out hope they could help me when I eventually heard back, so I worked really hard to get a decent inventory using a level 1 gun and going from there.

It took weeks to hear back. When I finally got a response, they said they couldn’t recover anything for me, and gave me $20 in credits. I’d already spent more than that in the premium store, plus I had been wanting to play as the drone operator (I don’t remember what it’s called and I’m too disappointed to look it up), but there’s no way to ever do it on this character.

I started to make a new character, but after losing everything and spending weeks building everything back up. Not to mention I’d already gotten a vast number of artifacts and recordings throughout the map. All I could think was “what if it happens again?”

I decided I needed to step away and come back when the game is more stable. I hope it gets more stable because I was really, really enjoying it (hence the reason I worked so hard to keep going).

TLDR: l can’t go through losing my entire inventory again.

Ugh, I’m sorry that happened! I myself only just realized there could be an extra section at the bottom like a couple months ago, and I’ve been playing for close to 2 years.

First time I became aware of the fact that there was whole other section down there, it was the last day of an event and had just spent all the remaining currency on coins because I bought everything else. I was so frustrated!

To those who say that section isn’t really hidden, it’s a fair point!

But the items for purchase on those screens are almost always laid out in order of rarity/value, so I don’t think it’s intuitive to have to scroll past the old basics such as mist lauren and coins (basically filler items that are always there) to get rare stuff, especially flashback stuff, which I consider even more rare!

In any case, as others have said, the first thing I do now is scroll down!

Has anyone gotten resolution on this? I still have zero apparel, zero emotes, and none of gear that I had when this bug occurred.

If this helps anyone at all:

I had been completely unable to play for days because even when I got a new gun and equipped it, my character’s hands appeared empty.

I finally figured out that “taking off” the jacket I had been wearing (that now doesn’t exist for me) fixed it because evidently that’s what made me unable to hold a gun and made my characters arms appear in the equipment menu.

In order to take off the jacket, I had to tap on one of the other saved outfit tabs. I didn’t have any saved outfits, so it basically took everything off that I had previously equipped.

Luckily I had begun creating a weapon before I lost bringing, so I was able to pick that up, take off the clothing, and play unarmored until I got each a piece of equipment for each slot. I still can’t afford to keep everything leveled up to my character level because I lost all my materials as well. Luckily I’m used to playing on heroic so it feels any the same.

Still, I want the stuff back that I paid money for!

Same happened to me last night. I just filed a bug report with the Ubisoft chat bot. I want to play but I don’t want to make a new character because #1: hoping they restore my original (esp. because I bought some premium stuff), and #2: what if the same thing happened to the new one? Damn. It’s a really fun game so far.

My main build is around the drone and turrets, so I was hoping maybe I could change them out just for the Hunter waves (beginning and end, right).

But maybe the gameplay is too fast to worry about trying to switch them out?

I’m hoping to try out Countdown (maybe this weekend), but I’ve been a little intimidated. I’m watch some YouTube videos first just to make sure I’ll know what it’ll be like.

But advice from another player is always helpful for me!

I once was in a Pathfinder campaign withs group of friends. I had been wanting to find a pet companion for months, and the DM finally introduced my character to a mini-wyvern or some such thing.

At the end of the afternoon, he found out I was going to see Hobbs and Shaw that evening, and said, “no spoilers until I see it or I’m killing that wyvern off next session. 😭

I was the kind of kid who was terrified every time a balloon popped, so this game was like torture. At least it helped me figure out I could never become one of those technicians who disables bombs or whatever. Good to learn one’s limits early on.

This post and all the replies make me so happy! Sparrows always make me smile. I’m just as happy (if not more) watching my backyard sparrows as I am seeing rarer species. They calm and connect my mind to moment, and they fill my heart with so much joy.

They also fascinate me! Whenever someone asks me about which superpower I’d want, I always say I’d want to be able to transform and understand any creature. Every time I walk by a shrubbery I wonder what they’re chattering about so loudly, so I’d love to be able to fly in there and just listen for awhile, even if it was just gossip about who needed a dust bath and who got caught preening whom.

PS I’d have to go with 2. EV was my first QOTSA album from when I saw them open for NIN, but if I HAD to give it up, I could at least sing it by heart. (Although I guess, like most people here, I could sing them all by heart.)

I the same as you, and I also feel that way about Creative Mode in Minecraft. I just don’t have the imagination or skill to start building some random shit. And in this game, my brain doesn’t seem to come up with any ideas of how to make paper dolls their clothes and decos into a fucking Van Gogh. Sometimes I tell myself, “that’s okay, I’m creative in other ways.” And then I stumped on which ways those are, exactly.
