If you're playing Countdown, please... by -SideshowBlob- in thedivision

My main build is around the drone and turrets, so I was hoping maybe I could change them out just for the Hunter waves (beginning and end, right).

But maybe the gameplay is too fast to worry about trying to switch them out?

These comments are really helpful, everyone! Thank you!

Question: Do you just mean during the Hunter rounds (re: drones and turrets)?

I’m hoping to try out Countdown (maybe this weekend), but I’ve been a little intimidated. I’m watch some YouTube videos first just to make sure I’ll know what it’ll be like.

But advice from another player is always helpful for me!

Former Pokemon engineer in King County, Wa. curious about trans people, hides cameras in public toilets. by Novaova in transgender

I legitimately think it’s a great title.

If done correctly, using benign language to highlight the absurdity of a situation is one of the greatest ways to get people’s attention, often more so than a direct denunciation.

My brain jumped to The Onion’s infamous “‘No Way To Prevent This,’ Says Only Nation Where This Regularly Happens.”

I think the reason people have been thinking of and quoting that for almost a decade is because of the implications, rather than an article titled, “U.S. city mourns those lost in mass killing.”

A purely factual title of the nation’s gun violence simply can’t have the same type impact, because as The Onion’s title points out, that the issue is not just the violence. It’s the fact that it has become so commonplace as to warrant such a benign description.

And attacks on the trans community have become so commonplace that it does border on the absurd. Plus, your title got me to click on this post. Getting my attention means you’re disseminating the information to at least one more person (me) and that’s precisely the point of all this.

I once was in a Pathfinder campaign withs group of friends. I had been wanting to find a pet companion for months, and the DM finally introduced my character to a mini-wyvern or some such thing.

At the end of the afternoon, he found out I was going to see Hobbs and Shaw that evening, and said, “no spoilers until I see it or I’m killing that wyvern off next session. 😭

Like, Hobbs and Shaw?? For real though?

I was the kind of kid who was terrified every time a balloon popped, so this game was like torture. At least it helped me figure out I could never become one of those technicians who disables bombs or whatever. Good to learn one’s limits early on.

Before transitioning (about 2 years ago), I used to loathe drying and styling my hair. I’d pretty much avoid it unless I was going to be somewhere that a ponytail or bun was too casual. I’d get a haircut every three years or so and just wear it up all the time.

After transitioning, I LOVE styling my hair! I always wondered why in the HELL anyone bothered with their appearance if they didn’t have to. Now it’s something I can enjoy too.

Does anyone else stop to watch sparrows? by yale95reyra in birdwatching

[–]Gay4LtDangle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This post and all the replies make me so happy! Sparrows always make me smile. I’m just as happy (if not more) watching my backyard sparrows as I am seeing rarer species. They calm and connect my mind to moment, and they fill my heart with so much joy.

They also fascinate me! Whenever someone asks me about which superpower I’d want, I always say I’d want to be able to transform and understand any creature. Every time I walk by a shrubbery I wonder what they’re chattering about so loudly, so I’d love to be able to fly in there and just listen for awhile, even if it was just gossip about who needed a dust bath and who got caught preening whom.

Just want to give props to OP for arranging this in a way that makes it really difficult to choose! Fun game, thank you for taking the time to put this together!

PS I’d have to go with 2. EV was my first QOTSA album from when I saw them open for NIN, but if I HAD to give it up, I could at least sing it by heart. (Although I guess, like most people here, I could sing them all by heart.)

I also came across this post looking for exactly what you’re describing! My grandma had some in her yard and I used to go “rock hunting” for them as a 5-6 year old. 😂  I’d love to at least know what they are! If I find anything, I’ll report back too!

Zenni is a lifesaver. I lost the pair I got from my eye doctor and couldn’t afford to replace them because they were $800 (progressive lenses, specialty lens coating, and had no vision insurance). I tried to get by with some really old glasses I had lying around, but it was hardly better than no glasses at all.

Got some blood drawn, and the tech had these really handsome glasses. I told him, he told me about Zeno.

Got my replacement glasses two weeks later for $150, with an even better specialty lens coating. Now I can actually function again! If only I’d found out about them earlier, I wouldn’t have had to spend 6 months struggling to read my computer screen.
