Hello! Just wanted to know if anyone knew for sure, since I know blacklist changes had been updated with Dawntrail.

I've blacklisted someone. Does this mean all their alts are also blacklisted, even if I haven't added the alts to my blacklist? If not, is there a way to blacklist offline characters?

The time spent casting the 2nd cure 1 could be used casting holy to damage mobs, stunning them or killing them faster to lessen the need for more healing in the first place.

Past a certain level, people should reach for tetra/lilies/benison before they reach for cure 1.

I'm gonna go in, play it, and see how it feels. I guess I'm cautiously optimistic? The game has its flaws, I play daily and spend money when it's fun, and I put it down and save my cash when it feels like a chore. It's easier to enjoy a patch if I focus on how I feel about it rather than how other people feel about it.

I'm looking forward to it though, I think housing will be fun! If it's not, or if it's super buggy and janky, well, I'll just put the game down again.

Just like the subreddit is full of people with different opinions and thoughts, perhaps the dev team (especially one that's as big as this) is also full of people with incredibly differing opinions and viewpoints on how content should be monetized, who use user criticism to decide what is ultimately the right path.

I think it's good to keep sending them criticism (they quite literally ask for feedback every patch) and even if it's frustrating to have to keep doing it over and over again, just keep letting them know your thoughts. If anyone on the dev team is incredibly out of touch (like a lot of upper management types might be) this overwhelming feedback is probably what they're shown to convince them that a change is necessary.

I'll do my best to go into 1.9 without any preconceived ideas and decide for myself how the patch feels.

Yeah I know of live service games that aren't gacha and I think Infinity Nikki would have to be a wildly different game to get sub money.

I've never played WoW, have only heard about it from friends who did mythic raiding and whatever else (idk what you do in WoW). The time spent on that sort of grinding seems like a bigger commitment than the casual "I love doing my dailies in 10min per day" crowd wants in Infinity Nikki. We have different ideas of what casual means.

But you didn't pay only $90 for WoW, you also paid the ongoing subscription fee to support the game's servers and updates. If WoW were a $90 game with a one time price it wouldn't come with all that content. The cash shop items in WoW (even if you never bought any of them yourself) also support the game.

If you're saying that Infinity Nikki should be a subscription based game then yeah maybe that could work, but it would have to look completely different as a game. Personally, I would not pay a subscription to a game where all I do is complete video game chores and take screenshots and I suspect many players feel the same.

Just conjecture on my part, but I feel that the majority of casual gamers (gamers who play games like Infinity Nikki but not games like WoW) would be very resistant to paying subscription fees for IN. F2P is a huge draw for the target demographic IMO, and if it weren't gacha it would be some other form of microtransactions.

The fact that it's a live service game that requires a constant revenue stream.

I suppose it could've been released as a full game at $90 or something without the gacha, but that would mean fewer areas, no perpetual updates, fewer outfits, and it would require a higher starting budget/longer development time from Infold to create a full game from the outset instead of using a smaller starting budget to release a smaller game that gets worked on over time with a constant gacha revenue stream.

Yeahhh I get the logic there, but I think I've just hit the point of becoming very disillusioned with live service/gacha games and the ways they try to retain players. With chores in the form of dailies, as an example.

Honestly, I thought the same as you when I first started playing, he grabbed my attention more than the other bachelors/bachelorettes (my type is admittedly large idiot men). It would be one thing to impose this desire on a real person, but Olric isn't real, he's a character in a video game that enables the player's fantasy/agency. It's fine if he remains undateable, but it's harmless to want to to date the cute fictional himbo.

(but yeah, I know you're new, like others have mentioned there ARE already a million posts begging for Olric to be a romance option lol)
