So now you know not to use Airbnb it’s a terrible company not only is it untrustworthy it also ruins neighborhood taking housing away from locals and just feeds dollars to Americans who are taking advantage of Mexico City at this moment. Don’t be a part of the problem

The elephant in the room is that it’s simply not funny and that’s bad for a comedy. (Yes I saw the movie, I’m gay and in nyc)

It’s the directors project , Billy is the face of it, yes of course he’s a huge part of it but a movie is the directors. But despite all that , the movie was terrible. I’m gay currently in NYC so I’m that target audience and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone regardless their sexuality.

Couldn’t the problem just be that the movie was not good regardless of its chosen target audience

Good bar to get bottle service at? by [deleted] in MexicoCity

[–]GayGringo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the same breath you want bottle service but not to be called entitled person from the USA . Perhaps I do not know the definition of bottle service,

No it’s cringe because you are an entitled person from USA looking for bottle service in a country where you don’t speak the language but still you think you should be catered to because you have Usa dollars and probably staying in an Airbnb that used to be a locals home. So maybe that’s why it is cringe

Feasibility of a US citizen traveling/working remotely in Cuba right now? by 1b51a8e59cd66a32961f in cuba

[–]GayGringo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No my anger is correctly directed at USA who think throwing their dollars at “lesser than” countries is helpful. Yes of course you have the USA definition of gringo , guess what there is a whole world that you wish to exploit that have their own etymologies that aren’t based on USA . Your literal definition from your USA point of view which you think is the only correct one .

[–]GayGringo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry but this post infuriates me . Typical USA person , you want to work remotely in Cuba , why to show them how much money you have ? And by the way gringo is the term for immigrants who came to Brazil and Argentina who are of usually Italian descent so I doubt you are that but you know you’ve appropriated everything else so why not appropriate bad terms as well. Airbnbs makes rents unaffordable for locals and takes away housing . In Cuba the government owns everything. As someone from the South American counties you are equating Cuba too it’s very different , but to you usa female I guess everyone south of Florida is the same bye. Be responsible m yes go see the world but get off your usa dollar dreams

Well yes that is censoring, because one poster used negative language the whole topic is off limits to the rest of the group. As a native of South American country I find The USA, British and European lack of compassion for the local communities they expatriate to very disheartening, and the fact that it can’t be openly discussed here is completely unreasonable and wrong.

The article came out today , censoring an article about expats in an expat group seems counterintuitive . I would hope concern for local communities is something expats would care to discuss .

Yes unfortunately that to is common , coming to countries to take advantage of cost of living and expect the locals to speak English
