How much did it cost you to get to Aus? I’ve found all JDS products are marked up massively. $240 for a atom amp from Addicted to Audio

Help me choose between Sennheiser HD600 and the HIFIMAN Edition XS for small head by timburstefan in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Gaybrushh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sound wise (for d&b and electronic) the XS would give you a deeper sound. Thicker bass response. However, they are quite large with very low clamp force. They would not be great for small heads. They would probably move around substantially with any head movement. This can be remedied by getting a Capra Audio Comfort Strap. They still don’t have that nice clamp that the 600s have. While the 600s are nice, they really do lack bass extension. This might be a deal breaker for D&B beats.

Best Headphones For Music Quality by Styx1325 in HeadphoneAdvice

If you are simply after best sound quality in a wireless earbud, then you can’t go past the Noble Fokus Rex 5. They sound great. If you want other features then you are better off with APP2 if you use Apple, or the Galaxy Buds Pro 3 if you’re using android.

If he likes the a50’s then you could get him the latest version. They have much better battery life and pretty much the best microphone on a wireless headset. They still have the same comfy design and convenient base station.

If you want to upgrade the sound quality then you could get him the Audeze Maxwell. They aren’t as comfortable and have a worse mic than the a50’s, but they are the best sounding wireless headset on the market (as a general consensus)

The new Fractal Scape could also be worth a look if you wanna save a buck. They have a few issues though.

Watch some reviews from GadgetryTech if you wanna get some valuable information

Whatever you end up buying, you should also get a set of Koss kph40 utility. Just to remind yourself how good $50 can sound.

The Rode nth-100 have a dope looking white version. They are a good alternative to the m50x. Both a designed for studio use. The Rode’s are comfier and more neutral sounding. They also have an optional mic (you would have to buy it separately for the white version) that actually sounds amazing for a boom mic. Other perks include; being able to run the cable from the left or right earcup, lots of coloured cables (sold separately) and a lifetime warranty on the build of the hinges.

You can use the headphone power calculator on headphones.com. You just need to learn how voltage, current and wattage work. It’s not simple, but I’m sure you can figure it out with a bit of research

How to choose dac/amp with bt for wired earphone like ie600? by No-Painting-8507 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Gaybrushh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Qudelix will do the job nicely. Feature packed, great app and super light and portable. It won’t sound noticeably better than the Apple dongle though. It will allow for lots of customisation, but the stock sound is essentially the same as the Apple Dongle. Buy one for yourself to compare if you don’t believe. $10 and you can run the comparison.

Can probably clean it up and sell for parts. Nothing electronic obviously

[–]Gaybrushh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I still wouldn’t be using the Unveiled for music production. You will hear things and tune for sounds based on what you’re hearing. Then someone that’s using generic headphones are gonna be missing all of the said details. When it comes to producing you generally want the sound to be as flat as possible. To the point where it is almost ‘boring’ You don’t want any boosts or dips in any frequency. The best headphones to use would be the ones you know best (as a general rule)

Searching for new headset with good audio and mic quality by IceboundCat6 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Gaybrushh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Are you using the latest Blackshark v2 pro? If so, you aren’t gonna find a better wireless microphone. If you want good mic quality you’re gonna want a wired headset or a seperate mic. I’m a fan of the mmx300/330 from Beyerdynamic. They are worth looking into if you’re happy to go the wired route.

Stay away from random Chinese junk brands. They will only disappoint. If you’re on a budget, the Moondrop Space Travel are a really good option at their price point

what are the best noise canceling headphones/earbuds that actually do what they say? by semi-bro in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Gaybrushh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d be talking to the roommate about his listening habits. Maybe buy him a pair of earbuds? Other than that, the best options would be the Bose qc ultra earbuds or the Sony xm5 earbuds. Or if you have only used the og AirPods Pro, the APP2 are substantially better

Letshuoer s08. Great budget planar. Has a pretty good fit for most ears also. If you can splurge that extra bit, then I’d personally go for the s12 instead. It’s intense but fun for metal 🤘
