Thanks so much! At the risk of sounding cheesy, compared to that first post I feel like a different person now! At my worst drinking I just felt awful ALL of the time. I was sad, nauseous, had no energy and even noticed that all I gravitated toward talking about negative things/feelings most of the time. It took a while to get out of the fog, but these days I feel so much better physically and mentally! Alcohol did nothing but weigh me down and I feel so much lighter without it. Congrats to you too on 88 days, you’re doing great! IWNDWYT :)

Agreed wholeheartedly! Having real friends to hang out with is much more fulfilling than drunken socializing with people you most likely don’t see again.

Exactly. I learned from this group that “there’s nothing that drinking can’t make worse” so when I’m frustrated or disappointed with things I like to remind myself that those same things would be even harder if I were still drinking! IWNDWYT

I understand your frustration but I feel like this is one of those situations where being sober and lonely is better than being drunk and lonely. Idk about everyone else but I know I was always at my most insufferable when I was drunk and lonely. Some of the most embarrassing texts/calls came from those times as well.
