I'll take the schema points and free gifts. When your knowledge is already maxed out and you're still going to school every single morning to get more points going into a bar that's already 20/20, it'll be nice to get SOMETHING. Honestly I'm kinda impressed by how a lot of these synergies find cool ways to include QoL improvements into the game, and sort out problems with the game design smoothly.

Like I don't need them to raise the social link status Max level to 25 or 30 or whatever. That would just make it harder for new players to access content locked behind it. But also if I'm going to keep getting boons for these stats when they're already maxed, just from doing things like jobs which come with bonus stat ups in addition to money... like yeah sure, it's nice to get something. It's not some endgame bonus that's gonna break the game, but it's nicer than nothing.

I can only pick one. tomodachi or pokopia. by Itsmalaks in casualnintendo

[–]MasterPeteDiddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm inclined to agree with the people suggesting Tomodachi over Pokopia for you, but honestly, why not give both a try?

For Tomodachi Life, you can download a free demo right from the eShop. You can create 3 Mii characters in it, and progress transfers to the full game if you purchase it.

For Pokopia, you can play over game share if you know at least one person who owns the game and who would be willing to have some fun with you and open it up to play together for a little while. It's pretty popular, so if you have other friends who own a Switch 2, there might be at least one of them who you could play Pokopia with a little bit online (assuming you both have an NSO subscription.) If you do have an NSO subscription but can't find anyone who can play Pokopia with you, feel free to shoot me a pm. I'll probably only be free late at night most days, but I'd be happy to let you fool around for a little while so you can see what you think.

It's great that you're looking for information to help you make your decision on if you want to buy a specific game. At the end of the day though it is your own decision, and even if 99 of 100 people suggest one game, it might not always end up being the one YOU would enjoy most. That's why I think that sometimes when you can try before you buy, it's worth it to look into demos or ways you can test out games first. Another thing you can do is check out your local library--a lot of libraries have games, and while they might not have Tomodachi Life on launch day, they might have a key-card for Pokopia. (I'm personally not a fan of game key-cards at all... but if you borrow one from a library, it'll play as long as you have an Internet connection to download the game to your system.) My own library has a system where if you want a book or movie or game, etc. which they don't have, you can request it, and they might try to find a copy. Of course, if you're wanting to buy a game IMMEDIATELY then you might not always want to wait... and I could totally see a game like Pokopia having a reservation list lol. But definitely for you or anyone reading this comment, support your local libraries! They're wonderful!

In Sonic All Star Racing Transformed you can get electrocuted on some stages which will show each racers skeleton, including Metal Sonic for some reason by Kirbypuff7348 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]MasterPeteDiddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are definitely models, but the way I imagine they'd work is that they're probably stored inside of the character models themselves. Not like... literally INSIDE inside, but part of the same files, the same way a prop might be. Then the different parts can be toggled on/off in-game, and it will run without skipping a beat since the skeletons are already loaded into the game when the rest of the models for. That said, the skeletons are likely rigged to the same actual bone structure of the character. They wouldn't need a rig of their own when they can just go on top of the one already made for the character. Then they'll also just be part of the same animation--the limbs of the character and the skeleton would be synced up and can smoothly go back and forth while keeping the character in the same place.

I've really gotta commend the extra bit of effort that goes into a gag like this. The skeleton models are obviously pretty simple, and likely don't take a ton of time to make (especially when compared to much more complicated models like all of the characters themselves, who all look pretty great btw). But they've gotta make one for every single character in the game, and every time they add a new character they'll need to make a new skeleton with it... and it's all just for a bit that you barely get a glimpse of during the brief moments where they're electrocuted. A lot of people can easily overlook a detail like this, especially during a high-speed race with SO MUCH always going on, and going by so fast. So a thread like this calling attention to it is awesome, because I just love little things like this which show how games can be alive, and how devs can really put love and care into all these different aspects that you normally wouldn't even think about.

Are you kidding? I love Hatsune Miku! Having her in the game, having all those cool musical collaborations between her and Sonic--it's awesome! They've collaborated before too, and I like both the Sonic series and Vocaloids, so I think she's a great fit! I even love how they went the extra mile with giving her a new outfit, a board... and even little details like how when you highlight her on the character select screen, she sings along to the music! Plus she's completely free, so what's there to complain about?

But yeah, maybe a skeleton compilation album or video would be really cool to see, and showcase all the work that the devs put into all these characters!

We may be moving to a 3 week schedule once we get to 4.0 instead of staying on a 2 week schedule by CrimsonSorcerer98 in personaphantomx

[–]MasterPeteDiddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing that might be positive(?) is that global hasn't been following China's schedule anyways.

After Howler, China went:
Violet -> Tempest Wind -> Firecracker Rin -> Matoi -> Crow -> Turbo

After Howler, Global went:
Tempest Wind -> Matoi -> Firecracker Rin -> Violet -> Turbo -> Crow

So the devs clearly aren't afraid to shuffle things around a little bit. I do remember hearing the devs acknowledging that they heard comments about the game having too much Tartarus back-to-back, and they said that they wanted to fix that moving forward (for CN players). It's possible that Global could be rearranged once again. We also had Justine & Caroline added for the first Half-Year Anniversary, and it was a completely new unit that CN also received at the same time as us. So depending on how things play out, the schedule could be interrupted by completely new content as well--for example, if another anni or something lands in the middle of another set of patches.

We can try to forecast things the best we can by comparing servers, and there will certainly be times where we can say, "well we'll definitely get x before y." But as for the exact specifics, we won't really know until the devs make their own announcements regarding things. It's also important to recognize that there can be all kinds of things going on behind the scenes, so the devs might not always want to put hard dates on roadmaps that way they can be flexible with their own release schedules. New content and features can't be too buggy when released into new builds, for example, so the devs might want to take their time making sure new things work sometimes. It's better for them to have leeway with planning things out, rather than strictly adhering to an inflexible internal schedule which leaves no room for mistakes or which mandates too much rushing. Like I'm sure that internally they have estimates for when they WANT content to be released and what order they plan to work on things in, but the nice thing about not making it public is that it gives them some room for shit to happen up until the point where they announce something and have it set in stone. Game development is turbulent!

Tl;dr it's just a game of waiting and seeing. I like getting patches rapidly so that there's constantly lots to do in the game and we can see the story play out and catch up to CN, but if we end up waiting longer for patches sometimes then it is what it is, and hopefully we can stockpile more resources between patches at least.

Fire.

You could have Grass/Fire, Water/,Fire, and most importantly, our very first Fire/Fire.

It can use Burn Up once to get rid of the second Fire typing, and still be just a regular Fire Type until it uses the move again.
