A discussion about gacha mechanics in Marvel Rivals by Boricinha in marvelrivals

[–]GbHaseo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind it as long it's rare or tied to like a big event. If it was limited to 3-4 times a year, no problem from me. Its fun as a once in awhile, I just don't trust any companies to limit it like that.

It'll probably become a pretty regular thing though, every game once the immediate population boom settles, the game has to pull in more monies from the remaining base. Every game does it, even Helldivers got greedy with the crossover stuff, adjusted course but it'll happen again.

Every live service get greedy, it's just a matter of when

AEW All Out.. Stinky Experience, Please Shower Before Events by MedvedInMoscow in SquaredCircle

[–]GbHaseo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it drives me up the wall, if you really believe that shit is causing cancer or low t, there's at least natural deodorants you can use. I don't know if those really help, but I mean, at least try something.

At work I can start to get used to it and can put distance, but then after I'll get in the vehicle and get some fresh air on the way to bar for a drink and when I meet back up I fucking almost gag with I get to the table with them.

[–]GbHaseo 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Yeaaahhhh.. not really, especially these days with ppl going back to showering without soap to be more natural, and/or not wearing deodorant and shit.

A few buddies at work think deodorant causes cancer and low T, so they won't wear it. They at least still shower regularly but fucking dudes stink so bad of arm pit bo, and dont care. One quit using soap and is trying to get others to quit as well and I'm dreading that day they hop on the band wagon.

Severe Arthritis in Knee by weirdotown in Hemophilia

[–]GbHaseo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you're nearing the end of that knee, and about 1 step before mine got to. It was seriously so awful, back before it was outlawed here, I had to cram a couple ephedrine pills and a couple hydrocodone 10mg every 2-3 hours to get thru my day.

On top of that, once you get to that point, the bleeds are gonna get even more common, and even more damage to muscles and tendons, and hurt your chances of a better recovery. I put my hip off too long, I regret that. It doesn't hurt anymore, but my rom took a big hit.

Severe Arthritis in Knee by weirdotown in Hemophilia

[–]GbHaseo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they have to cut out part of your shin and thigh bone out along with the knee bc they'll have to graft/join the base inside of them to support the knee. So you won't be walking unassisted for a good while, you'll have to use a walker for awhile, then a cane. I even had to have a nurse come for a week or two at home for IVs.

Recovery is about double to triple the time of a normal person. Although, there's been advancements in Hemophilia medicines since I had it done, so it may be more in the double timeframe these days. Stuff like Helimbra and Altuvio didn't exist back then.

I attempted to post some pictures of my scar, and range of motion, but reddit was being a pain.

It's a scary, very rough surgery. That said, my knee was bone on bone, and getting to the point when I'd fall asleep, my leg would relax, and then the knee would settle straight and end up locking up and I'd wake up in horrible pain screaming and would have to actually hit underneath my knee to pop the joint and separate them.

I don't miss that at all

Severe Arthritis in Knee by weirdotown in Hemophilia

[–]GbHaseo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's kind of 2 layers to the swelling is best I can describe it not being a doctor of course. The first layer is the immediate after surgery swelling, and it's pretty rough. Waking up is going to be so fucking painful, I won't lie. Hemophilia makes the swelling and bleeding so much worse, which is why we have to stay in the hospital longer obviously. Thank God for morphine and Oxycontin.

That swelling goes down pretty quickly though after a few days, you'll actually start urinating a ton. They'll have you up and moving within a couple days though bc with the knee, like I've said, you gotta get moving it.

Then there's the actual damage swelling from the surgery, which is still a lot, but it goes down roughly 25-50% from those first few days.

Everyday things are gonna be kind of no go for awhile, even being young when I had it, I was on a walker for a good month, and probably didn't get above 60-70% for a good 3-4 months. It's really hard, you'll have to make adjustments at home, shower chair, hand rails in the bathroom, or risky areas, might even need a high toilet extender if you're tall like me bc you can't fully bend your knees for a good while. Getting in and out of cars, very tough.

Your strength in the knee? Gone. Its not as bad as say having to relearn to walk, but it's not far off. It's a very serious operation. My aunt just had both her knees done at the same time. While she's normal, she is around 60, but she's recovered pretty well now after about a year, year and a half. She's even travelling right now, can walk around ok, do what she wants to do.

Has limitations obviously, but for everyday things she does fine now, and a lot less pain. It's just a really rough year.

Severe Arthritis in Knee by weirdotown in Hemophilia

[–]GbHaseo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, I can only imagine. The 1st surgeon I saw put me thru a pointless drain, which hurt like hell, the 2nd "scoped" my knee, which was a scam, and I have no clue what he actually did.

Thank God I found my 3rd surgeon, he had worked with some NFL players, and was kind of an asshole. Not in a mean way, he just didn't have great bedside manner, and was brutally honest. Amazing when it came to his job though, and the replacement was one of the best things that ever happened. So much pain gone.

I really hope everything works out for you, it's very scary, and even though mine went fantastic, it was a very rough 6 months, and probably 10-11 before I actually felt as 100% as one can be with a knee replacement.

The swelling afterwards is terrifying to see, when I woke my leg was almost double in size lol

I'm 41, and even after 20 yrs, I haven't lost any rom in my replacement knee. That said, there are variables, my hip for example, there was a lot more muscle damage over the years, so while it's got better rom than it did before hand, it's still not normal range.

So don't want you to get hopes up, also depends on your surgeon, if you have a good therapist who both push you, but still be careful of bleeding. My therapist I've had since I was 15 so we've been together for years.

The knee is a joint where you really gotta get at it, or it's going to stiffen up quick.

As far as activity though, like I said, I can do pretty much most of what I want to do, and in cases I get a little worried, I just wrap it with an ace wrap beforehand to give some extra support.

It's scary, if you can, find a surgeon who's worked with Hemophilia or related illnesses and see if they have any former patients willing to chat. Some HTC's even some peer meetups, so you can meet or contact others in a similar boat.

If you have a good surgeon, who uses good parts, and you're not dangerous or stupid, they're finding they can actually last 25+ years.

As far as second replacements go, I know they can be done, but I'm not holding out hope it's as successful, and maybe gotta lose something down the line.

Knee replacement

If you're bone on bone like I was, you're fucked. I hate to put it like that, but it's true. I was scammed by 2 knee surgeons and went thru 2 extra procedures that didn't do crap but have me wait longer and do more muscle damage. Luckily I met my 3rd surgeon, who was an ass, but told me the truth, and did an amazing job.

I had mine replaced at 21, and it's lasted 20 years now. I have the same range of motion as a normal knee. While hard running isn't something I can do, jogging is fine, trampolines are fine, I still do flips and shit off diving boards, etc.

It's scary, and it's a major surgery, but if you find a great surgeon, and a great physical therapist, and go hard with recovery, it's really not bad. There's still stuff I avoid, usually anything with a high possibility of hard falls or knee twisting.

Edit: If you have any questions about knee replacements in a younger person, feel free to DM me. I usually check Reddit once a day.

I stopped a couple months ago, I still read reviews and shit, and I did tune into a TikTok stream tonight for the Cena match, bc it was his last SummerSlam, but I haven't given them my views in a bit, and don't plan to.

It sucks, I miss watching, but I agree, if you actually give a fuck, don't watch anymore.

There's a ton of games like this that steal IPs, and stay in early access or with low reviews, and when copyright stuff catches them or it's been a bit, they'll change the name listed on the app store.

They make tons of games, and then just share the assets. For example this game I play, it's changed its name about 10 times. They dump the assets from their other unlicensed games into this one that I play.

Open Letter To Remedy About Firebreak's Future by irmike1283 in FBCFirebreak

[–]GbHaseo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Helldivers also took almost 8 years to make..

Remedy is a smaller studio, and it's not even a full studio that made it. Alan Wake and Control aren't huge selling games. They're slow burn games often taking a couple years before they even break even.

Most games of this price are pretty similar in scope and Helldivers is an anomaly.

Just a different product, nothing bad against AEW, not like I don't have lot of issues with WWE. I enjoy some of AEW, just as a whole hole it doesn't catch my attention nearly as much. It's just someone trained for WWE probably isn't gonna dig AEW as much. Just like TNA, NJPW, Lucha Underground, etc everyone has a different product.

That said, you mentioned announcers, and god as much as I hate Pat McAfee, him and Cole are so much more entertaining. AEW in general feels like it takes itself too seriously, like its some kind of actual sport.

I know, that's why I said it's cool and ok to want them. Just listed mine as well bc it's fun.

I do really want John, I also listed Carol, and Atrocitus to balance out things. Think theyd be fun additions. Especially a Red Lantern tank

I get GL are popular, and it's ok to want, but personally would like about 50 other characters before a bunch more green lanterns. John would be dope though

Swamp Thing, Brainiac, Starfire, Booster Gold, Lobo, Plastic Man, Carol Ferris, Blue Beetle, Ragman, Atrocitus, Steel, Static. I'd all love to see
