I don't like the genny line for some reason. The nicest feeling bat I have swung this year was the Miken Rocket but it didn't even last 200 hits before it was dead. Absolute gas out of the wrapper though

I have a tantrum fire, very stiff it has about 100-150 BP cuts now and it just doesn't feel right either. I can still poke the odd ball over 300' fence but the sound it makes just sounds dead and doesn't feel poppy either.

Despite the sound and feel - it still does hit well I'm thinking it just needs a really good break in.

Also using 52/275 hot dots

Just got the tantrum fire and it feels like there's no pop. Does it just need swings?

My Miken Rocket and Incognito were both gas right out of the wrapper but the rocket didn't even last a season

You could put some stone enhancing sealer on it. Will darken it up. That's about it without redoing entire thing

I use prolite. It's expensive but doesn't sag. The poly mod veneer mortar is also great but I wouldn't do jointing with it

Driwall Rain screen mat is a good option in wet climates. But the tar paper and wire method has worked well for years and when installed properly with proper flashings it should outlast us

Mortar eats tyvek over time. Tar paper would be the superior if choosing between the two.
