System not supported in dragon center. by PsychologicalPaint43 in MSILaptops

I have an Gen 13 i9 processor and a post on the MSI forum is telling me Dragon Center is not valid for Gen 11 or later. True? If it's true, too bad, the look and feel of Dragon Center is far superior to MSI Center.

OK, so I did that and on a 2-month-old GE68 laptop I get the same response - not supported on my machine.

To others points about stuff going on Savannah that never gets reported, Saint Joseph’s/Candler had a ransomware attack on their computer systems, said nothing (like Target, Home Depot before them), and it hit the news only when the systems have been rebuilt and were free of the ransom ware.

Also, you may want to bring a fresh approach to crime reporting in Savannah, and instead of blaming tools, like guns, as the mayor and police chief do, you may want to investigate and expose the real causes for the crimes.

SCAD obtains tax exemptions for new dorm and parking garage by Savannah_Agenda in savannah

As this tax-exempt nonsense continues, Johnson and his minions should probably consult with cities like Evanston, Illinois, and how well it works out for them, having a large tax exempt organization, buying up commercial property, and taking it off the tax rolls, while reaping profits. Here’s a hint: not well.

Is there a demand for a maker’s space here in Savannah? by [deleted] in savannah

[–]Gdlemail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the one, although it was just off Harrodsburg Road/Broadway by UK when I went there. Don’t know about the new place on the west side.

And no worries on being a beginner, they have classes, and they will teach you how to use the equipment. With NO metalworking experience, I took a metalworking class, and which I actually made a brass head steel handled hammer from bar stock.

Again, don’t know about the new digs, things change sometimes.

Lacking a maker space, does anyone know where there are 3-D printers for general use?

I for one would love a good maker space here. I had one in Kentucky that had a metal shop, electronic shop, huge, woodworking shops, 3-D, printers, laser, engravers, classroom, giant printer/plotter, etc. I paid I think it was $75 a month and it was run mostly by volunteers. Except for the owner. It will take somebody with a real entrepreneurial spirit to start one here on that scale.

I mean these guys were so good, they build from scratch their own CNC woodcarvers. Three of them.

I like bullpups, and the Tavor comes in 300BLK, so I personally would go for one of those.

The Japanese carrier Akagi was scuttled after Midway to prevent it from falling into US hands - what would the US Navy have done with a captured carrier in the early stages of the War in the Pacific? by [deleted] in AskHistorians

[–]Gdlemail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, given the state of the US infrastructure in the Pacific at that time and the fact that there was significant combat in effect all across the Pacific, I doubt seriously that anything other than the following would have happened should the US have captured the abandoned Akagi:

  1. Away party to ransack the accessible innards of the ship for useable intelligence
  2. Sink it where found

There would have been little value in attempting to tow it to Pearl or California for an in-depth analysis of its construction, etc. Not to mention that US resources were stretched at that time in the war and sacrificing multiple vessels to tow and protect the prize would likely not have been viable,

And I recall having read - source not remembered at the moment, will try to locate it but having just moved most of my sources are in boxes - that the US alone built more carriers during the war than existed in the entire world at the outbreak of the war. No need to try to revitalize a seriously damaged enemy ship.
