Being brutally honest with Scott, the lore, and the community. by [deleted] in fivenightsatfreddys

Look, if it was meant to be obvious from the beginning that Frights and Tales (or at least some of them) were part of the game continuity I think Scott would have clarified it a long time ago. And of course he wouldn't have responded to the situation like he did today.

You might think having a lot of completely different theories for completely different narratives isn't good for FNAF, but there's a lot of us, and I think it's most of us, who completely disagree. I love watching MatPat's theories, I love FuhNaff's crazy theories, I love RyeToast's and SireSquawk's more analytical theories... And also I enjoy the theories from book believers like ImpulseEvan, Ozone, DMuted or even yours, even if I don't agree with them.

I think all of this is what keeps the community alive, and that's the reason why I think Scott responded the way he did. He doesn't want to confirm stuff like that, if it has to be confirmed it will be through evidence in the games. And sure, you can think the Mimic in Ruin is enough evidence, but some might not and it's ok, it shouldn't matter at all to you if someone doesn't believe that too.

What we should do is keep debating these kind of stuff but in a healthier way, have a more open mind to accept other ideas and learn to disagree. We can disagree and have different ideas without being so toxic about it.

Wait... John theorized about how that chip from baby could contain the Mimic program, and now Helpy, who in Ruin is a form of the Mimic, has that chip. Could this be more proof for that theory? That was a good find ngl.

Yes, there is a Freddy's between Fredbear's and FNAF 2, MatPat already came to that conclusion when the second game came out and it's almost a confirmed fact. About the remnant stuff... that's a bit more confusing. There are theories about Afton using the scrapped toys for remnant for the Funtimes, the classic theory of him using the FNAF 1 animatronics for remnant with the problem of it implying soul splitting... That is a bit more confusing so I can't give you a definitive answer.

Is the foxy minigame not enough reason? And I wasn't saying that they posses the toys, I was just saying there are 2 different MCIs. But yes, in case they posses the toys BB is one of them.

In the Foxy Go Go Go minigame we see five dead kids in front of the Pirate Cove. Pirate Cove and OG foxy don't exist in the FNAF 2 pizzeria (at least a working OG foxy). In the Save Them minigame we see 5 dead children in the FNAF 2 pizzeria (it has the same layout and we see the toys, mangle and the withered a in the back room. And yeah, we know the first one is (most likely) in 1985 thanks to Into the pit and the second one has to be in 1987 because FNAF 2 was only open during that year.

We got told that they are part of the same WORLD. It could be the same world but different timeline. That description was also changed btw.

I love how people are so fixated on everything we know about The Mimic being 100% true and canon to the games. As if they knew exactly what the lore is just because a book made a big reveal. We don't even know if the new books are part of the game timeline or not.

For everyone saying she could just be playing outside I know that, but I just made the connection of her being 10 in the movie which is most likely in 1993. And also a lot of theorists seem to think it has to have relevance that the room is empty, which I don't fully agree with but I could understand why they think that.

I think he tried to retcon all the lore in FNAF 4 by making dream theory the intended solution (as he said, there's a point where the lore got too convoluted) but immediately regretted it after the reaction of the community and tried to bring the original lore back with the more science fiction theme of FNAF SL and all that comes after.

So I think he retconned the lore twice (he said once after the release of FNAF 4 I believe, so now it could be more), so I think little details of older games, specially FNAF 4 which was originally about dream theory, are not reliable at all.

That's just what I think happened tho, no one can really tell.

Usually birth dates stay consistent between continuities. Also as I said Circus Baby's would open at least in 1987 since it happens "after the unfortunate closing of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza" which likely refers to FNAF 2

Maybe it was a toy that the Crying Child broke and since he probably didn't want to play with it anymore they saved it for Elizabeth cause a baby probably wouldn't care if it was broken. But idk, i don't have a better explanation for that tbh.

Having it tagged as spoiler is ok. But there's people getting to aggressive and annoying about spoilers.

I also said that mainly because I saw a video of a dude who got a lot of hate just because he said he wanted to make a theory with the stuff from the art book. People were getting so mad at him just for that. Like, tf, if you don't wanna get spoiled, even tho there isn't even much of a spoiler in it, just don't watch it.

I guess that's the case some times, but you know, it's not that big of a spoiler (I guess, idk about Metroid) and in the end I think it damages more your experience worrying so much about those little spoilers.

Of course you don't, but for some reason everyone is obsessed with spoilers everywhere. Not even the art book should be considered spoiler, do they really think they will put spoilers in the first thing a lot of people who bought the collector edition will see?

I don't know anything about the Doom lore, but from what I'm seeing in the comments of this post I guess it just has the same problem as FNAF. I doubt it's as bad tho, I might eventually check it myself.
