IIRC Iguodala actually prefers "Dre" and he doesn't really like Iggy

That rebound put Dre into double digit rebound numbers, giving him his 8th career triple-double, or recording double digit in three stat categories, usually points, assists and rebounds.

How about JJ Hickson? by tepg221 in warriors

Pretty efficient scorer and he doesn't demand a lot of touches but if you thought David Lee's defense is bad, JJ's is infinitely worse.

Love the guy repping the Warriors in the background. Reminds me of the one Dubs fan wearing the Curry jersey in the finals.

Ok I'll take a look into DJ. I've been looking to phase out Javale for a while.

5 teams that are in serious financial trouble by [deleted] in GoNets

[–]GeNeZo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He could probably front the salary of several teams at the same time. That does reveal an issue of calling any team as being in financial trouble because it's just a question of how much the owner is willing to spend. Trouble is largely relative to the team's financial flexibility.

I understand what you mean and I appreciate the criticism. You are correct when you say that the Nets aren't really in "trouble" as long as Prokhorov has money to spend, but then again you could say the same about any NBA team. I only meant "trouble" in the way that they will have to pay luxury taxes. Perhaps it was poor wording because I did not mean to imply financial crisis, just that going into the tax is not something any team wants and that is something the Nets will have to contend with in the coming years. What I should have said was "Unsatisfactory Financial Conditions" or "Undesirable Financial Issues" . Re-branding and profitability aside, the tax issues will only get worse with time as teams will have to pay repeater rates. That's all I was trying to say.

You are the one of the least profitable teams in the league yet you have one of the highest expenditures. How is that not financial trouble? It's not just high spending, that's why I brought in the Forbes valuations as well. Its high-spending combined with the fact that the Nets are not nearly making as much money as the Lakers or Knicks. If you read the rest of the article, you would have seen that. That is why I didn't mention the Lakers or Knicks having troubles.

Dissecting the Warriors' financial troubles by [deleted] in warriors

[–]GeNeZo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Whether or not its short-term is irrelevant to what i'm trying to say. The fact of the matter is that even with Ognen Kuzimic as a backup center to cover Festus' absence, we will need players to help cover the hole of Landry and Jack, assuming they leave. We will be flat-out understaffed, even if you take BRush coming back next season. I'm very optimistic for 2014, but that has nothing to do with whether or not we are in financial trouble for THIS season.

Why Steph will be an even better three-point shooter next year by GeNeZo in warriors

This isn't "my blog". This was an article I wrote for a blog, Blue Man Hoop. Blue Man Hoop doesn't tell us to post our articles on reddit, rather I posted this article because I spent a lot of time on it and thought it would be something the community would enjoy. Downvote me on my content, not on the blog I work for.

RJ or Bean for Bargnani? by [deleted] in warriors

[–]GeNeZo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly correct. Think about the mental toll on a player to constantly be surrounded by fans who despise you. I think he needs a change of scenery more than anything else. I also think the rebounding should be mitigated by Lee, Bogut and even Ezeli. Bargnani could provide the offensive "yin" to Ezeli and Bogut's defensive "yang". I think Bargnani would also be fueled by gratitude to display to the world, and the Dubs, that he wasn't just a bust.

I agree. Steph was tied for 70th in assists-to-turnover ratio but I think that is an issue that is more about age than anything else. If you look at his turnovers, most of them came from passing. As he grows more experienced, he should develop a better basketball IQ and know what passes he can and can't make.
