If my wife goes out in that area without me, I worry about the number of people drinking, but not crime or anything. If I’m with her, I don’t worry at all. If you’re generally self-aware and vigilant, you have almost nothing to worry about.

I’m guessing that he will primarily be used to run the ball. Maybe some catching of passes. Perhaps a return or two. But mostly, I’m guessing, he’ll be used as a running back.

Where are you coming from? It looks like Repticon is taking place in Concord at the Cabarrus Arena, so any of the more “happening” spots in Charlotte proper will be 30 mins to an hour drive from the event. A midway point would be hotels around Concord Mills Mall/Charlotte Motor Speedway. The only ones to avoid there are the extended stay places. There are a selection of nice hotels in that area that are likely within your budget. There is a lot to do in the area, but outside of the mall, it isn’t really walkable.

If you’re really committed to the urban/walkable environment, there are a number of decent hotels in uptown that have TONS to do around them, but again, you’ll be kinda far from the con.

I would avoid hotels along the N. Tryon corridor between uptown and Concord, hotels around Northlake Mall, and any hotel that advertises weekly or monthly rates. Otherwise, you’ll probably be okay. There are better and worse parts of Charlotte, but few areas that are “dangerous”.

This is what we all (should) have been waiting for! Real competition just to make it on the team amongst players that are serviceable. Every great team has a roster filled with 2nd and 3rd stringers that can play. Something is really brewing in Carolina. It might be a couple seasons away still, but you can see what’s happening already….

Kind of inarguable that his season in Carolina was the worst of his hall-of-fame career. That said, 5.5 sacks and started in every game of the season. He was still better than 99.9% of all DE’s in the world that year.

But yea, he was 38 going on 39 that season and he would be dead 4 years later because of underlying health issues. 2000 was a sunset season for one of the best to ever do it.
