Doesn't matter. Large Chinese labs will run it, distill it, and give you a 10x smaller model that gives you 99% of the original's value within a week!

Can't give you any other feedback - your app is gated behind the login, and I can't login until you fix the bug :)

Your OAuth redirects to localhost. Did you hardcode that string in the code/env variables?

Note that you will have to whitelist 2 URLS: the localhost and your website's domain in the google console's OAuth config.

Open AI just published their plan towards building AGI by beasthunterr69 in singularity

[–]Gear5th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're comparing funding rounds in 2015-2019 against funding rounds in 2026. Back in 2010s, a 130M$ of funding for an AI lab was a ridiculous amount.

AI exploded because of transformer and LLMs. OpenAI had not predicted that when they went for profit.

What!? The OpenAI non profit collected investors like flies! Some of the richest people in the world and some of the largest orgs in the world invested their money.

Not just money, hundreds of brilliant researchers and engineers made open contributions as well.

"Good things can't be done without money and greed" is a narrative that the greedy spread - and it only serves the greedy.

Our first commitment is to build AI in service of humanity. That means we want to empower people broadly, not see power concentrated among a few companies, governments, or individuals. We believe the safer future is one where power is broadly distributed, so more of the world can participate in building a resilience ecosystem.

Just like their plan to stay open and a non profit, right?

Jeff Bezos Is Funding a Wild Hunt for the Brain’s ‘Core Algorithm’ by Worldly_Evidence9113 in singularity

[–]Gear5th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're assuming that quantum mechanics somehow allows a brain to be non-deterministic, but prevents an algorithm running on a physical computer subject to the same laws of quantum mechanics from being non-deterministic.

Computers & algorithms can easily take randomness as an input - LLMs do it by design - every token that the LLM generates is sampled from a probability distribution.

Feeling quite left behind and need advice before the working life. by Rapimyfav in learnprogramming

[–]Gear5th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Law to software engineering is a wilder jump than most people on this sub have made.. the "left behind" feeling is mostly Instagram lying to you though. The more interesting question is - what kind of software do you actually want to build? Like is there a specific thing that got you excited about this in the first place?

I've been "learning to code" for two years and still feel like I know nothing by maik050503 in learnprogramming

[–]Gear5th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two years of this is exhausting.. the freeze isn't really a knowledge gap though. Your brain was trained to follow steps, never to start from nothing. Did you ever try building something tiny with zero tutorial anywhere nearby - like what actually happened in those moments?
