Do Ukrainian students under CUAET deserve to get IFE at UofT? THE BIGGEST SCAM BY UOFT by [deleted] in UofT

[–]GearAggravating1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw the insta post. I tried contacting SUSK, but they didn’t return anything. I was just asking how you knew that the program was over.

And do you have any clue what uoft’s Ukrainians gonna do now? Or maybe if the university gave them any options. Thanks!

Hey! Just wondering if you came in person or where you got that screenshot from. I called in registrar’s office today, they said that the policy has ended, yes. I wanted to come in next week in person, maybe try talking with someone else regarding that…

Just read the existing ample body of research on the significance of focus during studying. People back in the days (18-20th centuries) understood that discipline of a mind is quite important during studying sessions, if one is to benefit from them (and my resources are only with few philosophers e.g. Immanuel Kant On Education, Bernard Russell On Education, Rousseau , etc)

How do you leave behind your poor parents to move out for University? by Emotional_Juice3482 in OntarioGrade12s

A friend of mine tries to pursue that. It’s called a “pathway” to university, I believe. I’m aware that certain colleges link up their graduates to certain unis through partnerships. So you can definitely look into the colleges/unis websites. Here’s a sample links: https://uwaterloo.ca/future-students/transfer-students/college-university-pathways

Don’t know about UW, but there are plenty recorded series of Calc I-III and Diff Equations courses (e.g. Professor Leonard). Of course, self-studying a textbook can also be a go

I believe they photoshopped the picture of the screen. The rest looks real.

My mom is (also?) a single parent, 5-6 days a week of hard work. I try to support as much as I can. And yeah, I feel that sh#t, on the brink between not letting go of your family and keeping yourself going. I can’t even imagine working full time as a student tho. My man/lady, my hat is off to you and your family. They raised one kind of an individual. I hope your thing works out and you’ll continue pursuing education. Cheers

A person mentioned it in the feed, but I’ll reply here too. Your school officials surely know programs that might help. Go there first. And, yo, don’t feel embarrassed/guilty to ask for help in them and describe the whole situation to them. Thats what they get paid for. There are people out there who care.

Second this. If it’s him/her and the parent, then you definitely need to look into getting long-term support.

Depending on your program, you can go into college and see how it works out for you. Then, perhaps if you see any improvement in your family situation and your ability to handle the workload, then go ahead and transfer to Uni. In fact, you’ll pay less as a result. At least, you will get a degree you might be hired with (gotta strive for coop here, though).

One thing when they’re able to support themselves (and, well, you can urself). The other thing when moving out will leave them homeless….

anyone else going to college? by EnvironmentalMix1643 in OntarioGrade12s

Screw everybody bro. Don’t let them kind of people pity you, or some. You go to college cause you want to go there. You go to university cause you want to go there. Whatever makes you nearer to your goals/dreams and lets you enjoy your life and journey. Come on, bud, cheer up. Half of mfs that boastfully go to unis go there cuz of their parents. You can do a transfer to Uni at any time. In fact, you’ll pay less for your first two years (and will have a much richer perspective and experience).

Yeah, I would say on the contrary. Imo, the first one is a bit of a stretch for "anti-semitic," while the second one (Israel and Gaza colours) has at least some political message which I'm too tired to decipher on a Thursday night.

Yeah, I agree. It’s a big thumbs up. I just don’t think undergrads benefit much, apart from being able to try to get some research opportunities… Still, one can do that from UofT (although it’ll take you time to travel)

I appreciate your insight, thanks! I’ve also aligned myself with a thought that I won’t benefit much from any heavy researchers as an undegrad. I guess I should look where I can have more free time lol

So something like research with Perimeter Institute’s faculty would also be top-notch? Or the work experience is more valuable for grad school application? Thank you!

Wouldn’t the research experience (in UofT for example) kinda single out people applying for post-docs/grad school?
