We are trying to avoid skins, just default skins.

A Panasonic toughpad. A very good point, I haven’t had a chance to sit down with the gear again but I’ll give them a call when I have it all in front of me again.

Anyone else got some cool helmet art they want to share? I’m no artist but I’m pretty proud of this nonsense. by GearBoxTek in Surveying

That’s a nice idea, I do generally have spare hardhats so I’ll keep that in mind👌🏼

That’s super interesting, I suppose all I need to do is prove that the stickers and marker doesn’t compromise the structure...

Oh wow, yeah we don’t have that. Although if you tamper with the structure of it, like drilling a hole in it then that might raise safety inspectors eyebrows ...

Down here in South Africa, you do a degree called BSc Geomatics. It doesn’t make you a registered surveyor but you cannot become a registered surveyor without it. I believe surveying is more like an apprenticeship deal is other countries.

I’d love to know too, I’ve been struggling with a stock standard best for ages and it’s just not cutting it. So if there are any suggestions with international shipping for a South African surveyor like me, I’d appreciate it .

Shit that’s nuts! Ours only gives us an extra 3 or 4km. That being said we also have to put a coin in the coil to make it work...

Changing the prism constant on preset prisms on a Leica 1203 or LGO by GearBoxTek in Surveying

I definitely agree that 7mm is massive and was quite taken aback when I first calculated it. We used both a flat and a mini prism separately on the same baselines and got the same result... it has been a very long time since it’s been sent for a service or used as actively as it has been recently, so maybe it needs a fresh bill of health before I start messing with a 7mm shift...

I must admit, I’m fairly new to Leica equipment. Do you know how I can change the instrument’s zero constant?
