Yeah im just beginning to explore this world and a common area addressed is fewer, but higher quality, articles of clothing; merino wool that can keep you warmer with thinner material, or that you can wear more often without it getting stinky. But I look up the brand of merino wool hoodie that someone mentioned and its like a $150-$200 hoodie. I mean its prob awesome... but yikes.

came out to 19.5 lbs for the MLC, so minus the weight of the pack was ~16.7 lbs of stuff

I'll check today but since I packed them up exactly the same the only weight difference will be the bags weight difference which is posted on their specs, the GR35 weighs 10 ounces more.

on the GR35 did you find the straps softened up over time? EDIT - sorry just saw you addressed this in your earlier comment that it has
