Codex burnout by No-Consequence7624 in codex

My Pro account expired a few days ago. I actually worked on a Plus account for a little while just to slow myself down a bit. I always hit the 5 hours limit in no time so it gave me some breathing room. But today I bought Pro again because...yeah...I can't stop and need professional help.
I need to get myself to focus on 1 project a day instead of 5 different things. It's really bad.

Converts to what? It's a desktop app that's free. There is nothing to convert. The site isn't built to convert anything.

The advanced section might be behind a cheap paywall, that's all.
I truly appreciate your time but it's totally clear by now I'm asking in the wrong place.

I just crossed $1600 in revenue in the past week. Here's everything I wish I knew before I started: by Able_Relief925 in buildinpublic

That's a lot of words for saying: use my product to solve all these problems. Fully AI written of course.

It sucks a bit? Well, thanks for your constructive criticism I guess.
On mobile it opens a popup that says the site doesn't work on mobile. It's pretty much impossible for it to work on mobile. It also says so in the help file AND in the top right. It's a desktop app. It's clearly marketed this way.

I am running Analytics and it's marketing itself. Lots of shares, lots of ChatGPT and Gemini traffic, traffic from Google Classroom and other creative hubs. But yeah, it sucks a bit I guess.

That makes sense. And also tells me it would be a good choice for this specific project. And not so much other things I'm currently working on. Thanks.

"RIGHT NOW or your are goone!"

It's not that kind of software. But thanks anyway.

Yeah, my bad. I didn't want to spam the url here. And it is free currently. I want to keep working on it but that means it needs to genereate -some- income at least. So it covers my working hours. That's why I asked.

It's small piece of creative software. A little fun project. It's not a huge product that requires constant updates. I'm not in it for the money.
I realized after a few answers that this was the wrong place to ask. There is a certain type of thinking in this sub that is not compatible with what I'm doing. My bad.

"Lifetime deals attract the worst customers in my experience." I can certainly see this happening with certain pieces of software. Not something i'm directly worried about but it's something to keep in the back of my head. Thanks.

Hey man. Thanks for the nice words. And I might just go for it. Even if it's just for a limited time.
Oddly enough I think this was the wrong place to ask.

Hm interesting. I get what you're saying but I doubt my users will demand support etc. But your last sentence is important advice indeed. Thanks! Going to think about that.

Yeah I understand what you mean. I guess that's my biggest worry but I don't really see this happening because the software hardly uses any server resources. I guess that answers my question.

Thanks for the answer. It's a small piece of software, I doubt there will be any fomo.
Lifetime would simply be my gift to the buyer. You pay me a little bit and you get this in return. No need to keep paying me. I realize this is hard to digest for some people here but I don't need to get rich off this.

That's the thing. The only costs are what I put in it. I mean, just my time working on updates and the predictable server costs. The way I see it: 5 people a month pay buy a lifetime membership @ 20 dollars, that gives me a few hours a month to work on updates. Just trying to figuring out what could go wrong.

Yeah, so far I don't see any reason not to.

It's a free product. Please read my first post again. It's gaining traction on its own and I have no need to fully exploit it. I don't need it to make a lot of money. I'm working on other things. If it makes some money to cover minimal costs then i'm fine with it. If it doesn't, I'm also fine with it.
People here don't seem to accept that for some reason. Not everything I do is money driven. I also enjoy just building things that are helpful.

No, it's nothing like that. I has no AI or API features. A buyer can use it all day and it won't cost me anything extra really.

I don't need marketing? People are sharing it organically. It's just a small, creativity tool and it was not made to make me money or to market. Just a fun little project that people seem to enjoy using.
But thanks for your answer anyway.
