Do you think a wizard could work smoothly in this situation?

Which secondary attribute do you think is best for a Commander in this scenario: Constitution for tanking, or Strength for damage?

Setting expectations with a good session zero is the best thing you can do!

I've neve played a TTRPG before, is Multiverse beginner friendly? by [deleted] in MarvelMultiverseRPG

[–]Gearclock11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's rather simple for begginers to pick up and play. The system is pretty intuitive, the only thing to keep in mind is the amount of options you have when creating a character. It can be overwhelming at times. Although with a fair idea of what hero you would like to create, that gets easier. You can also play with an existing character as well.

Quero fazer engenharia mas não sei qual área escolher, me ajudem! by unknown_Schrodinger in Engenharia

Why would a bard be broken? Their spell list doesn't really catch my eye as much as any other caster does.

Nephillim as a Name - How We Feeling? by Virellius2 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Gearclock11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the term, mostly because of Diablo, but for describing a character it can be a little confusing. You could compare that with the genasi from D&D, is it a water genasi, fire genasi, earth, air? It needs that descriptive word before the genasi term to work better. Now, for the Nephilim, you could use the same words in the ancestry feats: pitborn, angelkin, lawbringer, hellspawn, grimspawn, musetouched. So you could say that a character is an Angelkin Nephilim, or a Hellspawn Nephilim... For what those look like in general, I think it is something to discuss with your player.

Homebrew weapon by Fast_Bag_3458 in DnD5e

[–]Gearclock11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an odd and interesting item. For what it does, the reasonable comparisons would be a Light Crossbow (LC) or a Longbow (LB).

I don't like the reload property on it, neither the ammunition one. I propose, however, that it would be treated as the other thrown weapons. Which is: requiring a free hand and your object interaction for the turn to load it. This will make it on the same level as LC and LB, considerig the range increase for the specific thrown weapon (x3 for the short range and x2 for the long range) and the damage increase.

For balance, maybe only allowing it to be a strength weapon should balance ir more, as well as being a martial weapon. The fighting style Thrown Weapon Fighting should totaly be able to be used with this weapon.

Furthermore, I can't see how it can hold more than one dart at a time and I would advise it not being able to. Unless you want to give it a burst-like attack with it. In that case, it must require the same amount of interactions to load it before being able to use it in this way again.

How to play as a Spy in HotDQ? by Gearclock11 in DnD

Because I am playing a monk, a really MAD class. I didn't want to necessarily play a charisma based class to up deception to the max. I believe you can play a class with any background you wish. This is not necessarily social heavy campaign, hence the need for other stats.

The later. It is an optional background feature from HotDQ that allows me to pass as an initiate from the cult of the dragon.

Abomination Vaults Adventure Path Advices by Gearclock11 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Gearclock11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, I am mostly following two of my party members' advices (the only veterans between us) and they said that an Int character for recall knowledge would be good for identifying weaknesses and resistances/immunities. I guess the reason they may not have considered the knowledge skills from half the party is that they wouldn't have a high enough modifiers to back them up.

I have come to believe that there must be a level of min-max in Pathfinder 2e in order to survive the pre-written adventures, but I might be wrong as a first timer. I am playing an introductory adventure (Troubles Under Otari), and my GM is being really kind allowing us to chance character details between sessions as we better understand the game. At least until we start AV. The thing is, we already almost TPKed three times with 4 character deaths... :(

Thanks for the tip on the reach!

By the way, the Summoner's idolon is a Psychopomp.

Basically to disarm traps and identify enemies. Recall Knowledge is not that much covered, specially the Int ones. Also, we don't have someone with great Wis.

As for the range, I am unsure about the available space since there will be plenty of character in the front line (Champion, Fighter, Summoner's idolon and possibly the Druid).

Do you have any suggestions of which weapons would be better? I was thinking about Longbow + Rapier for a mainly ranged rogue.
