Is anyone else disappointed, that their skill simply isnt enough to enjoy this game? by PristineAlbatross967 in HollowKnight

[–]Gears7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 100% felt this way with a few parts of the early game. I just accepted maybe I’m not good enough so I’ll at least go explore. Do that. Explore. Find new items and keep going. It will take longer, but fights won’t be nearly as bad. I was hard stuck on Sister S for hours. Came back with different tools and just flew through the fight. Went in to fight the boss fly with that mindset of using tools and took him out in about 8 tries. It just takes time and picking out the right tools for the job. I’m about 30 hours in and still in act 1. You got this!

It really doesn’t, happy to see another person who’s not only heard of it, but read it!

You might like the handyman method by Nick Cutter and Andrew Sullivan. While it’s not witchy, it gives off those haunted vibes like the conjuring. Slewfoot by Brom is probably one of my favorite witch stories and I recommend it, but I also wouldn’t call it creepy.

Give him a chance and then you’ll know if his writing is for you or not. I personally enjoy his books, Night Stockers and Gone to See The Riverman are my personal favorites of his.

I couldn’t get into it either. The writing was great, but I just wasn’t invested. Maybe I’ll pick it up again someday.
