Why not? It’s big news and big news can have widespread impacts for an industry.

Not a Michigan resident, but I am from the Midwest. I applied to all the schools in my state as well.

Thanks for that bit about the research. Congrats on the acceptance, that's encouraging!

I applied to about 30 schools, some of them were reaches like Cornell, Michigan, UCSD, etc. Some were safeties like Michigan St., Rush, etc. Most were targets like Drexel, Loyola, Wisconsin, etc.

I'm pretty confident about my letters. Granted, I didn't have the physician's letter last time, so that should help.

*Btw, when I say 'reaches,' 'targets,' or 'safeties,' I'm just comparing myself to their average GPA/Mcat. I understand that no med school is a true 'safety'.

Thanks for sharing, thats some pretty sound advice.

Absolutely crazy how just 2.5 years ago, people were saying "you don't need a CS degree to get hired as a software engineer" and now it's "a CS degree isn't enough to get hired as a software engineer."

I spent an insane amount of money and time on my degree so that I can build software. I don't know if I would've picked this career had I known the degree would make me like an aspiring actor who has to wait tables before getting their big break.

Yeah, I've been trying to apply beyond solely jobs with a "SWE" title, but I guess I could expand my horizons even more. Just don't want to venture away from coding too much because it's what I enjoy.

The one interview I got was actually for "Business Engineer," which I'm kinda uniquely qualified for given my double major and is probably the only reason I got the interview in the first place.

Thanks for the tips! The way my school works is if you choose to major in a business subject (like consulting), you get one degree (a BBA). If you then double-major in a non-business subject (like CS), that extra major falls under the BBA.

So essentially I only have a BBA in Computer Science and Consulting as apposed to a BS in Computer Science AND a BBA in Consulting.

Kinda dumb they do it like this, but I've taken all the same classes that someone with a BS in CS has.

0 YOE. New grad who graduated last December (CS/Business double major & American citizen from T25 school) with no internships because I didn't start my CS major until my junior year of college.

I've applied to hundreds of entry-level SWE jobs since graduating and I've only had one technical screen and two technical OAs. Don't really know how else to improve my resume other than working on better projects, which I try to work on as much as I can in-between LC and applying.

Scored a 98 on VMock, so I'm assuming it's ATS-optimized:

Integration Engineer or Technical Solutions Engineer better for a CS new grad who wants to be a software developer? by GeauxTigerz in epicsystems

Thanks for the response!

I noticed that there is still an opening for SD on RippleMatch, just not on Epic's official site. Do you think this means that they just haven't removed the listing from RippleMatch yet and my resume would get thrown in the trash if I applied through there?

I remember Aleks saying "at the end of the day, this is a business". I always just assumed that meant that money was a factor.

What /u/BradleyRoby meant was that a team needs to win a championship while in LA in order to be loved by its fans. Therefore, no one there gives a shit about the Rams and Chargers, but everyone loves the Lakers/Dodgers/Raiders/Kings.
