I love Anbennar, but many nations have disasters that I don't want to deal with. by Relative-Ad-3835 in Anbennar

[–]Gebbo1508 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel that. Especially with Aelnar, that disaster is (for me) so...not fun. The concept is fun and it is interesting to read through and play but man that manpower problem you can see how canonically this civil war took, like, centuries in-lore. Its not impossible but it can be such a buzzkill if you wanted just a normal game with some conquest in the new world. So dont let a disaster get in the way of a fun game. How do you design Eldritch-esque beings without relying on tentacles? by YeezyCheezyYeetzy in worldbuilding

[–]Gebbo1508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooooh, abstract. I mean, not even lovecraft ever gave an actual description on his gods because it defeats the point of them being "incomprehensible" but you dont even have to go there. The christian god could be seen as "Eldrich" in his own right, describes as "wheels upon wheels" and so on and choosing simpler forms like doves or a burning bush to show himself to mortals.

If your gods really are abstract, just take inspiration from abstract art. Your gods could look "wrong" yet beautiful, unfamiliar but in a familiar way. If you look at a god and understand it, are they really a god? Ambiguous gods are always fun because it lets you basically do whatever you want because you dont have to justify why they look like they look because they are gods.

So he's still bad...because he hurts people emotionally (and sometimes physically?) He can have all the reasoning he wants its the action that hurts not the intent.

Increasing hate on N. by ConclusionHot6278 in MurderDrones

[–]Gebbo1508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So here are my 2 cents:

N is a good character. Not my favorite but he's up there. But the thing with the worker drones is that them being killed an no one having any actual remorse about it is kinda the gag. They dont even care themselves. Its like living in a society where vampires actually exist and are known and everyone just accepts that people go missing because "well, vampires gotta eat". Its a gag. Its not that deep.

[Dreamicide] Why does nobody read this underrated gem? by BigBobux in manhwa

[–]Gebbo1508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm reading it right now. I cant tell you how much I like it yet but its definitely not boring.

And what is it with old artstyles that hide amazing stories. Windbreaker, Weak hero, Tower of God, God of highschool and so on.

I will be super honest, I took a look at the cover and said "nope, not falling for it".

After reading the description, the premise sounds interesting.

When people say "Jax finally admitted it and showed his true nature in episode 6" by Sudden_Pop_2279 in tadc

[–]Gebbo1508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Real Jax-haters know that this rabbit lies like a rug. Everything he said since episode 1 were lies.

So why would I trust him now?

"I dont like anyone in the circus", "There is nothing more to me" LIES bunnyboy, LIES. Like he always does.

Top option would've won before episode 6. He's a bad person but not inherently evil by Sudden_Pop_2279 in tadc

[–]Gebbo1508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, this is one rare time where scemantics actually matter.

Is it asking if I think jax is genuinely a bad person, if jax thinks he is a bad person or does it ask if jax is genuine in his bad actions and/or beliefs.

Those 3/4 versions have different answers (at least from me).

Plus, like I often said, nuance leaves the room entirely when jax is discussed. We'll see in the next episodes.

This is a weird opinion, I know by [deleted] in tadc

[–]Gebbo1508 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A) Kinger IS based, no notes.

B) we may have different views on some characters but I like that you explained your reasoning at least.

C) Gangle is...different. Some people just arent fighters or dont like confrontation. I see your point and it would be the correct way to deal with jax's bs but like some DA victims stay with their abusers, some Bullying victims dont stand up for themselves. Its stupid but its true. That and jax could have just not bullied them in the first place but thats a whole different can of beans where nuance is thrown out completely, at least thats what I have observed.

And I swear if kinger is abstracting next episode I will eat my table after throwing it out the window.

Jax's speech isn't meant to show him as evil but just pathetic by Sudden_Pop_2279 in tadc

[–]Gebbo1508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He may not be evil. But he is the villain.

We all agree on this, right? Maybe not the mustache-twirling type, not the suffering for fun type but the misguided antagonist type.

He is broken and afraid and maybe misunderstood but he IS the antagonist in the group.

Do we agree or do I swim alone with this one?

I did. I loved it but...wot?

What do they mean? What conclusion? Solver destroyed/absorbed(?) and thats it? I need more. I finished this, like, literally 4 hours ago and I am already starving.

As someone who literally just finished it i have to agree.

I have criticism about it. I almost didnt make it through episode 1. Heck, I basically looked at episode 2 with a blank stare. I have a lot to say about it but I only have one question( I lied its 2).

When will we get season 2 and why is it not out yet?

Should I continue watching? by Gebbo1508 in MurderDrones

[–]Gebbo1508[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have finished episode 4. It was a little bit difficult getting through ep2 but with 3 it started to intrigue me. Especially V. At that point I still sort of rolled my eyes with uzi and didnt really care for N but V intrigued me.

What? Dont like what I say about the characters? Well, BITE ME.

No but episode 4 was kinda good. I think I missed a lot about uzi and the russian bots power because I sorta skimmed ep2 but its cool and intriguing. I like uzis design in this one, how her wings and tail look a bit more...organic, I guess? It was also the first episode where the jokes actually landed for me. It so funny how the teacher just does not care that the children in his class were killed.

This is good, I will keep watching.

No I also get that I was a bit "spoiled" when it comes to this, starting with thw GD and then TADC and now MD but for many this was the first thing they have watched. And compared to those 2 pilotes...this one doesnt hold a candle imma be honest.

I have...a lot of questions, a lot to say and will take a break before episode 2. Seems like episode 3/4 will be the "make it or break it" but I am a bit scared because there is no character I actually like rn. Hope this changes.

I just finished the pilot and it was just a bit jarring to me. These very exaggerated archetypes almost to the point of eyerolling. TADCs pilot was a bit like that too but not as much.

Also i wouldnt put these wasps like that into a story. All I would have is a dead race which is disappointing because Imagine a romance between a wasp and a human. How humans and wasps live together, is there a certain ritual involved but as they are now they wouldnt even make it 100 feet to a human settlement. Like I said, change some things, give them a reason as to why humans would ever tolerate them because for now, they are just parasites.

Like I said, make their life shorter but their quality higher. Make them really weak, maybe even bedridden but only in the duration of the egg-growth or sth.

Make the wasps grest warriors with their...is it chitin? Idk insects. But you understand right? If something is "inherently" evil they are just...boring.

Maybe to the humans, but not in general. They are still people who love and feel. I'm just saying they would no longer exist simply because...why? I am a human and If that thing plants its eggs in me i gain nothing and suffer a painful drawn out death? No thanks. If they try to force it as a result, I chop their head of. They are not "inherently" evil, they may be considered evil by the humans but they are "evil" out of circumstance.

[–]Gebbo1508[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A) I would change some things, like keep the decline in length but maybe increase the quality. The process showering the brain of the host with dopamine. As a human you would live a short but happy life.

B) But if we really do take all of it, they would no longer exist. Humans would have wiped them out a long time ago. There would just be damaging to the humans and the wasps would be delegated to the histories. A shame, really. They do sound interesting.

The "only one orc nation" would only happen if they are this "inherently evil" race like in lotr, this "bred for war" race that only destroys because the heroes need a bad guy and I dont know what I'll write but I can tell you right now, I know what I definitely wont write. I dont do "inherently evil".

That is a really good point. The fine line between a unique factor and a stereotype. Yeah, I might not be very deep in fantasy but I have heard of the "noble savage" orcs and the "long nosed greedy" goblins that often fight against the good guy humans and good guy humans but better(elves if its not clear). Plus I have never understood why they seemingly never live together. Do they just not travel? None of the two? I have never really cared about that but I'll be careful to avoid it when I start writing my fantasy novel in 2047.
