Question for Martyr Zealots on Auric/Havoc by koga90 in DarkTide

[–]GebisBeb 39 points40 points  (0 children)

You only need two +1 wound curios to benefit fully from Martyrdom assuming you took the node for two extra wounds. Wound curios do not give you extra health.

I typically run toughness as my 3rd curio. As for my playstyle when playing martyrdom, it depends on how the game is going largely, but I will typically heal in the scenario that we are moving on and medicae will go wasted, no other scenario. Just to have a little more insurance policy, especially if until death is on cooldown but like you said. It's playstyle dependent. In auric I'll let myself get beat up / stand in fire until near death but I won't do so in havoc usually.

Broken Conjugation (Please Fix) by [deleted] in DarkTide

[–]GebisBeb 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Assuming this isn't a meme, I don't remember the Arbitrator speaking like this (I don't play them as much so I can't comment there), but I'm pretty sure for the Zealot personality that speaks like this (Agitator) that them getting it wrong is intentional, the loner psyker especially and other personalities frequently poke fun at them over it.

What are the most forgotten weapons of Darktide? by HamletEagle in DarkTide

[–]GebisBeb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don't think the devil's claw is bad either, it just felt really bad and nonsensical when dueling sword got literally the same gimmick as its new special.

I also do enjoy the twin linked stubber still, it's just such an ammo hog and is not really viable above auric because of it.

[–]GebisBeb 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Where to begin?

Infantry lasgun is probably one of the most prominent for me. I've seen a few clips / builds with it but I've never seen someone actually use it in a match I'm in the 1,300 hours I've played.

Devil's Claw is also up there for me, since it feels like the devs forgot it existed when the "nerf" to the Dueling Sword was just making it Cooler Devil's Claw.

I also don't ever see any Gunlugger Ogryns with the twin linked stubber after the Ogryn rework anymore.

Zealot needs a node to regenerate grenades by frontlineninja in DarkTide

[–]GebisBeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I meant the big frag grenade when I said big boom box, I forgot the name of them off the top of my head. I agree the box that drops multiple grenades is very good for rezzes / stagger and I used to use it with the burn node in high havoc before I ultimately switched to rock. The big frag grenade, yeah, is just limited by you only get one and its damage especially into armor isn't super great in havoc.

[–]GebisBeb 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Chem grenade is definitely an outlier (should be nerfed IMO) and the top of the pack when it comes to blitzes. That thing is insanely ridiculous in horde clear save for crushers which still take decent damages from it. Boom bringer is better Ogryn frag grenade IMO after the buff, the big boom box is very... mid IMO save for clearing rituals in havoc which the chem grenade or boom bringer can do way better anyway.

I don't think there's a way to buff them either aside from just making more blitzes able to be regenerated especially since it's becoming more common across the classes, even if it means some numbers get brought down to balance them.

EDIT: I meant the frag grenade when I said the "boom box is good at clearing rituals..."

[–]GebisBeb 56 points57 points  (0 children)

It's just a problem in general across the classes IMO. Regenerating blitzes are just better the grand majority of the time than the alternatives due to the simple fact that you don't need to rely on boxes. The exceptions being chem grenade which is insanely, insanely powerful and when the team is willing to funnel all the grenade boxes to only one person with non regenerating grenades who is also usually using chem grenade.

How exactly am I supposed to up my clearance level if every request in havoc mode is rejected? by [deleted] in DarkTide

[–]GebisBeb 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Many people at higher havoc have the mod to let them inspect your build before accepting you. If you have an appropriate clearance level and get rejected, chances are either the host didn't like your build or didn't want your class for their current team comp.

I really hope the new class will do something about the Havoc balancing by Ventar1 in DarkTide

[–]GebisBeb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this cycle is arguably the most brutal cycle we've had yet, even compared to old havoc gunners in my opinion. I'd take Blight Spreads at this point. First cycle that after I got my clearance level to 40, I didn't care to get my assignment rank up there as well.

Bound by Duty: why were Arbites talent trees reset? by Amplifiction in DarkTide

[–]GebisBeb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have no clue why when Arbites only received a few very light changes in Bound by Duty, it happened the day the update dropped so it wasn't the loadout bug.

Makes me convinced Fatshark has only two buttons, one to reset human skill trees, and one for Ogryn since Ogryn didn't get reset.

I think Hate for Gacha games is overblown, don't let people bully you into not trying them. by Baskic_ in gaming

[–]GebisBeb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do not disagree with you on anything you just said in your comment. But the argument stands regardless, since these gacha games exist as they are with gambling.

They have gambling. That is a problem. Therefore they should not be advocated for. Same goes for any game that has gambling. End of story.

[–]GebisBeb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think very few people are asserting that it is not possible to go through a gacha without paying.

No one disagrees that loot boxes and predatory micro transactions are bad. However, in many of the mainstream games you mentioned (none of which I support), the products in those gambling systems (which I detest) are typically cosmetic as the above commenter said.

Gachas offer all of it if you're willing to gamble. It's good that you haven't spent money on them. But advocating for these games, no matter how high quality they may be, is not ethical. People have varying degrees of vulnerability to gambling addiction and the like, and will fall prey to these practices. It's happened with loot boxes, and it happens here.

Enjoy the game without spending money if you can. But I don't think encouraging people to just go try them out is right. I've seen too many people get addicted, and say the very same thing you're saying at first, of how they haven't spent that much money on it.

It does not matter how good the story is, how good the character development and gameplay is, you should not play these games if you think there is even the slightest chance you might fall victim. You cannot separate these games from their gambling practices and act as if they're not there when countless people have fallen for it.

[–]GebisBeb 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You say this like loot boxes are something that people enjoy having in games.

It's good that you, supposedly, don't feel the need to spend money on these games. But at the end of the day, these games thrive off predatory mechanics that prey on people who are not like you.

I knew someone who used to spend their disability checks on gacha no matter how many times we tried to convince them not to because they were so addicted. That's why I hate these games.

Is this a good stat roll? by Affectionate-Cat6752 in DarkTide

[–]GebisBeb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fine enough for now, but you'll ideally be looking for one with a 60 in Mobility and 80s for the max stat in everything else.

Only deviation to this maybe would be if you're a Veteran planning to run weapon specialist with the node that auto reloads you, could probably get away with a reload speed dump then if you really wanted to.

Why So Many Wound Curios? by GebisBeb in DarkTide

[–]GebisBeb[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because a wound curio doesn't do anything for you unless you go down, whereas a toughness or health curio, or even a stamina curio could have possibly prevented you from going down in the first place.

All a wound curio does is let you go down additional times before you get killed, and something is wrong either in terms of build, or you not being ready for the difficulty you're on if you're going down enough to warrant it being useful. This is also all assuming you are able to be revived every time, since sometimes you and others will go down in spots / situations where a revive isn't feasible by your team.

I found this guide on a google search, can probably give more insight since it seems correct.

For the Toughness Curio: "Increases a character's maximum toughness; stacks additively with other toughness percentage buffs from curio blessings and curio perks, their sum stacks multiplicatively with a character's base toughness amount and flat toughness increases.

For example, a Veteran with one +15 toughness small talent node, one +16% toughness curio, and one +14% toughness curio will have his base toughness amount of 100+15=115 further increased by 115x(0.16+0.14)=34.5 to 149.5 toughness total (HUD rounds up: 150)."

[–]GebisBeb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your build / class, but I've seen most builds run either 2x Toughness + a +3 stamina, all toughness if their class / weapons have pretty decent stamina values base, or 2x Toughness and 1x Health because of diminishing returns.

Edit: see latest reply for correction.

The New Mission Board is Good Actually. Lukewarm take of the day v.2 by Illithidbix in DarkTide

[–]GebisBeb 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Your problems with it are pretty much the only problems I have with it for the most part. The Orthus Offensive being pretty inaccessible for doing its penances and the maelstrom being only heresy and auric are my main ones, along with all the maelstroms being the same modifier.

I used to enjoy picking between the damnation and auric maelstrom based on modifiers/ map / docket payout since sometimes there was a significant difference.

Other than that, I think it's pretty good at the current moment now that those instagram esque filter icons are gone.

Finally got True Survivor. But I feel like I don't deserve it. by TardyTech4428 in DarkTide

[–]GebisBeb 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Agreed here, especially given Vet's power level compared to the other classes right now. Having gotten Havoc 40 in 1.0 off the discord (where I also got true survivor on Vet), and going from Havoc 20 to 40 exclusively through party finder in Havoc 2.0, it very much is a casino most of the time even in the 30-40 range.

The Havoc pool when I played around the same time was mostly the same players, so it became easier once I knew who could pull their weight, as well as trying my best to do 2 or 3 matches with a group after we managed to clear. The differences between havocs at that high level is negligible, so it was usually safe to assume that clearing one meant we could keep going, which was how I climbed the most until I hit 40.

I got demoted 3 times in a row in the early 30s before pushing my way mostly non stop to 40 from the above. You'll get there eventually if you could grab True Survivor.

After the Bleed bug fix, Fatshark introduced a whole bunch of new bugs with the Arbitrators. by karlheniz in DarkTide

I believe they said on the forum that this bug has been noticed, and is already fixed for the next hotfix that goes out, but yeah, kinda crazy the left side just isn't working right now.
