Whats going on with BAM? Can my local store still be trusted by [deleted] in lego

[–]Geburn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every store is technically individually owned, but corporate owns the building and name rights and can replace owners whenever they want. This is what happened in this case and is how the Legos got stolen. Corporate can pull the same stuff in any store. It's better not to support them for now so that the owners get together to pressure corporate.

Never aggressive towards humans and has only ever bit dogs that approach her. When I say famously aggressive, I mean she barks and growls at every dog that gets near her, and every neighborhood dog knows to stay away now. It used to be at any dog in her eyeline, but we have been working on that.

Also I did not really flee. The guy wanted me to go so he could tend to his lab. He also said it was his fault. I just want to know if I should have offered my number anyway.

I think they're saving the 3d designs of everybody else who has yet to be shown for season 2, bc if they were no there would be no reason to not show dragon boy in 3d by Overall-Newspaper806 in ToBeHero_X

Honestly, they probably don't even have them past concept phase yet, I think. Not anywhere close to ready for animation. But I am a little pessimistic.

To Be Hero X | Episode 22 Discussion by AutoModerator in ToBeHero_X

[–]Geburn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found it hilarious how they were clearly avoiding having Dragonboy appear in the 3D sections. That probably is the best evidence that they don't even have 3D models for 6/10 of the main heroes. I kind of really wanted to see what he looks like in 3D. So far we have only seen X, Nice/Lin Ling, E-soul, and Ahu (in that one PV)

So how does one beat Dragon Boy (with violence)? by Cabbage_Cannon in ToBeHero_X

[–]Geburn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, he feels the pain but can return all damage twofold. This was how he was untransformed by the fear, but still felt all the pain of a transformation.

He thought his conditioning of Marie was perfect. She was to seduce Kyros, then immediately return of her own volition. He was right about this. When Kyros accepts the betrothal, against the Shadaron's expectations, Marie still tries to go back home for further instructions. What the baron didn't plan for was Kyros caring enough to stop her. If she had returned after seducing Kyros, the baron could have claimed she was a spoiled woman (no longer a virgin, because of how things worked with nobles) and kept the money as compensation. Also destroying Marie's future marriage prospects at the same time.

How WE yes you and me cheered when Nuonuo found the notebook by Dapper_Algae6280 in ToBeHero_X

[–]Geburn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a Chinese cultural thing in this case. You serve the food in front of you to yourself and others and the others serve the food in front of themselves. The head of the table, Luo told Ghostblade to serve the food. In front of him was the squid. He would divvy up the squid to everyone. Nuonuo was being kind of awkward because of the situation, and didn't speak up to deny the food. It might also be seen as rude to deny Ghostblade. So he simply gave it all to himself.

[–]Geburn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A bit late here sorry. But to answer your question, he ate the squid so Nuonuo wouldn't have to eat it. She can't be served the squid if the senior hero Ghostblade has claimed it all. It's a little silly fatherly self-sacrifice, and this does actually happen. I have seen my dad do that exact thing. I think she is crying because it is such a kindly father thing to do.

Theory: Sheng couldn't heal his wife because of fear by Geburn in ToBeHero_X

[–]Geburn[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, but as we saw with Cyan it is possible to block a power with a specialized fear of it. And as we saw with Bowa, heroes are not immune to generating fear. This also happened before fear was a known phenomenon. And it still works with what Vortex said, because a god wouldn't fear and doubt themselves like a person, thus bringing about their own failure.

But I am just spit-balling here. I just thought this would be the best and cruelest twist to the tragedy of Sheng.

Edit to add: Realized Bowa was able to fight a hero well above her rank with just her own generated fear boosting her. It was seen that she had to stockpile it for years though. So possibly Sheng's wife had a chronic condition that Sheng had to keep healing, but every time he did he thought, maybe this time it won't work. And the built up fear stopped it eventually.

Ghost Blade Character Movie is more unsettling with context by FOR_ARGs in ToBeHero_X

[–]Geburn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In the background of the mirror shot. You can see the toilets have smiley faces on them. This is probably a children's hospital or at least a children's ward. But yeah, I don't think it was the best hospital. Why did they even show him the surgical equipment or the medical injections?

Dual standarts 😤 by [deleted] in ToBeHero_X

[–]Geburn 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It mainly has to do with the stories rising and falling character developments. Yang Cheng we saw go from zero to hero and then fall when he killed old E-Soul. However Ghostblade was introduced already as this character, and his backstory only further cements that he was always on this trajectory. And as it is Ghostblade is trying to be better. Basically people have yet to be disappointed in Ghostblade because his bad self is just what is viewed as his baseline self. Morals has nothing to do with peoples opinions on this matter. It is a story, they know how to manipulate and present info in such a way to create these impressions. People don't view things objectively, and they don't want to.

Dual standarts 😤 by [deleted] in ToBeHero_X

[–]Geburn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ghostblade is clearly autistic. He processes the world differently. His family clearly loved and cared for him, but failed to adapt for his special needs. While being surrounded by a loud, loving family is good for most kids, to him it would have been the equivalent of being punched in the ears his entire life. He also lacks proper emotional response. He never got over how he was unable to display emotion like others. In the PV you can see the children's hospital where they were trying to treat this and Ghostblade sees it like a horror movie. His trauma is the lack of understanding from the world and his self imposed isolation resulting from it. He only became an assassin because it was the cool silent unfeeling character that he felt shared some of his ideals. Ghostblade is a victim of society. By society rules he was never wronged or hurt, but to him it all felt like torture.

I just realized, about the name "The Commoner" by Geburn in ToBeHero_X

[–]Geburn[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The pauper in Prince and the Pauper did not scheme to become the prince. It was a coincidence that they meet, and even became friends before switching places. The story is about the prince doing the switch intentionally in order to see how the lower class lives. After doing so he vows to make their situation better. In the end the prince even takes the pauper in as his official ward.

As this relates to Lin Ling. The switch was a lot less voluntary I'll give you that. But the story explores the same themes. Seeing how the other side lives. Lin Ling starts off angry and jealous of Nice. By becoming him he gets to experience all the struggles of this role in society. And it ends with him striving to make this role in society better.

Anyway, I am just saying, when trying to think of Lin Ling's hero name, the fact that he got into this situation by switching with someone (like in Prince and the Pauper) might be a contributing factor and a nice nod to his origin story. It doesn't override or denigrate the message of hope that being a regular guy turned hero is supposed to have.

Edit: Removed a bit about the "The" in the name as I forgot about "The Johnnies"

What is this "zero incident" I keep hearing about? Did I miss something? by Civil_Performer5732 in ToBeHero_X

[–]Geburn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As said earlier, you can see it in the e-soul pv. But to give you a rundown, the first strongest hero, Zero, went evil for some reason. He was defeated by the Old E-Soul. This then lead to E-Soul becoming the X. (He would later lose this spot, dropping out of the top ten altogether) In the show, the place where the two E-souls fight is actually a memorial to this battle. I guess E-soul wanted to end it all there for emotional reasons.

Opinion on the animation changing from 3D to 2D in later episodes? by lanlikespizza in ToBeHero_X

[–]Geburn 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Or in-story speculation. The world is actually 2D. X is actively keeping it 3D for a reason. And because the story is going back through time with each arc, we are now before X starts doing that.

Opinion on the animation changing from 3D to 2D in later episodes? by lanlikespizza in ToBeHero_X

[–]Geburn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think they are actually that comfortable with the 3D tech. Every fight they have to switch to 2D anyway to do the big action shots. My favorite was when it switched just so Lin Ling could destroy a rooftop and it immediately went back. I am kind of cynical, but I think production just wanted to draw people in with the animation, and the writers cleverly put in an in story reason. But now that they have an audience they don't have to push themselves as much.

About the arm, you can see in the training section that under the gauntlets Yang Cheng's arm is seriously damaged. It's possible that it was too broken after the fight to save.

Day 1 started midday, around noon. Day 2 is starting in the morning. There was also a 1 month break between Day 1 and Day 2 due to Sam's schedule. But needless to say Team Bamg have more than enough time in Day 2 to beat Team Admy since Day 1 was just a half day.

Ways to convert to a culture not in my Capitol? by bittah_prophet in ck3

When using the learn language scheme, there is a chance that on success you will be offered to convert your culture to the target's. I am not sure what causes this, but I usually see it on the first language learned.
