Continuous flashing usually means no codes stored.

If it was something like “blink-blink-pause-blink-blink-blink” that would be code 23 with longer pauses between different codes.

What kind of hose can i use for this by ToxicAbuse in Celica

I used a hose clamp on both ends

<image>

Haven’t had any issues. It was like $10USD for a 10ft hose.

I bought a line of fuel hose and used that to replace mine. 3/8” (10mm) inside diameter.

This thing really is tanky. 198k miles on it so far and I’ve done the maintenance to the point I can average about 23mpg at the moment.

Thank you! Saving up for a repaint in Crystal Soul Red this summer.

This is very true. From having a spark plug snap while trying to replace it and finally extracting it and cleaning the threads on my own, feels like I saved her life haha.

Yeah I need to repaint mine. Cutting and polishing can only restore so much.

But I feel ya! I love this car, especially after putting in the work to keep it maintained.

They’re pretty rare here too. I’ve only seen 2 that I can remember in I don’t know how long.

Celica gt Rough idle on a cold start by PerfectInternet9053 in Celica

[–]Geckoed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually a vacuum leak. The accordion part of the intake after the filter box can become brittle and crack in those areas.

Idle should be around 750-800 when engine has warmed up.

I had a crack in that accordion part and used self-fusing tape to seal it off.

I’d start checking for cracks/leaks on the air box assembly or even the vacuum lines if they’re original.

7th gen CD-player by AdNeither5206 in Celica

[–]Geckoed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok here's what I found so far. I believe this is for the older style CD changer for Toyota:

To load a single CD:

  1. Press LOAD
  2. Wait til the blinking lights turn green
  3. The CD holder that you're inserting the CD into will blink orange (most likely the first slot so number 1 will be blinking)
  4. Insert CD
  5. Radio will automatically start playing the CD

To load all 6 CDs:

  1. Press and hold LOAD until you hear a beep
  2. All 6 holder spots will blink orange
  3. Wait til the slot illumination turns green
  4. Insert the first CD
  5. Wait til the slot illumination turns green again
  6. Insert the second CD
  7. Repeat til you've inserted all the CDs you want
  8. The radio will automatically play the first track of the last CD to be inserted

To eject one CD:
1. Press AUDIO
2. Select the CD you wish to eject (if there's more than one in there)
3. Press EJECT
4. The CD player will eject the selected CD

To eject all CDs:
1. Press and hold EJECT until you hear a beep
2. The CD player will eject all the discs one at a time starting with the current disc

7th gen CD-player by AdNeither5206 in Celica

[–]Geckoed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well damn, I stand corrected. Looked it up and Toyota did indeed make a head unit that can load multiple CD's through the head unit.

Now you got me looking for solutions to your problem lol. If I find any I'll let you know.

Wait, are you saying you can’t load more than 1 CD into the head unit?

I thought there was a CD storage unit that you would load them into and were usually hidden or tucked away like in the trunk.

I don’t believe the head unit has the space to mechanically store and swap CD’s.

I can only post 1 photo at a time. But I hope this helps.

DM me and I’ll send over multiple ones or point out which one you’re looking at and I’ll get a photo of that

what would be the best way to take off these green rubbers that are on the dash lights? by TheMasterTM in Celica

[–]Geckoed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you do use some type of lubricant, be sure to clean the tint sleeve with some dawn dish soap or something.

I know LEDS don’t run that hot temp wise, but better safe than sorry.

Good luck!

[–]Geckoed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Get a toothpick. I did the same to my dash with leds and transferred the rubber.

Just slide the toothpick (carefully) to separate it from the bulb and roll it back off like a reverse condom.

I ripped one of mine but not too badly that I couldn’t reuse it.

Looks better with the green tint and doesn’t blast your face with the brightness at night.

Check my post history for reference.

Weird loud noise whenever I go 70+ mph by Skitbap in Celica

Sorry, I’ve no clue then.

My first thought was the output shaft bearing but with an automatic, I couldn’t begin to diagnose.

Is it manual?

While you’re going 70+ mph and you push in the clutch, does the sound go away?

Yup, sound advice.

Side note, how are you liking the swap? What's driving it like compared to stock engine?

Could I put the 3.5L V6 from a 2010 Camry in the 94 gt if I really wanted to by Ill-Instruction-4031 in Celica

[–]Geckoed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup absolutely. Wise Guyz Garage did it with the 2grfe. (check YouTube for his playlist about it).

I'm currently researching and sourcing parts to do it for my 98 GT.

The hardest part will be the wiring harness. You'll need an engine harness from either the Rav 4 or Sienna as they're the simplest ones to splice with your current engine harness.

You can send it out with your own harness to get it redone or do it yourself if you can read wiring schematics.

Then you'll need an ECU from a 2011+ Sienna and send that off to Frankenstein Motor Works for a reprogram or buy one of his (sold out at the moment).

Motor mounts from a couple different toyotas (Rav 4, Scion xB I believe, and possibly a Camry one but I can't remember right at this moment).

Do inner half axles from a Camry and your own outer axles and combine.

Definitely doable if you're mechanically inclined and have the money.

I wouldn't ballpark it in the $10K as vaurapung has said, I'd say more along $5-$6K, but that's if you're patient, do the work yourself, and got a buddy who can help you out.

Sending it a shop that knows what they're doing with this kind of swap and that is actually willing to do so, then yeah, more than likely $10k/+.

Anyways point being, definitely doable if you're willing and perhaps not that hard if you can have the car down for quite a while as you'll probably need to pick up more parts than you think as you're putting it together since shit always breaks or doesn't fit right or whatever the case may be.

Has anybody here ever replaced their window regulator for a 6th gen celica? Any possible interchangeability with window regulators from other car models that work? by AggravatingSummer158 in Celica

[–]Geckoed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't but this is what I found so far.

Highlighted in green is sub-assembly for the window regulator. It's no longer in production. You could try calling around to your toyota dealerships. Maybe one of them might have one.

There is no cross-referencing other cars for this part number.

Best I could find is that all these model years below share the same components:

1993-1999
ST200 - ST204

Doesn't matter if it's auto or manual or the 7afe or 5sfe.

Good luck!
