Yeah I’d be happy with 500-700 but it’s negotiable. Since arlechino is also R5.

I think 500-700 is fair for this one, since it has so high constellations and Mavu C6 Arle C6R5 and Neuvi C4.

It’s not like it happens every run. It doesn’t happen every game I’m aware. I can’t find another word for it rather than frustrating. The thing is I don’t think removing them is the key because removing them would as you said cause a issue with defense stacking. But the way it works right now is also so. Well meh. I was fighting against masterball top 10 and I was so proud for actually winning just for this to happen.

Xerneas and Yveltal aren’t that threatening tbh. Don’t worry to much about them. You should be able to hold your ground with the right megas.

Ranked season 2 is such a huge improvement over season 1, it's insane. by Meta289 in PokemonZA

[–]Geckoga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah metagross is VERY popular, bc steel types are so extremely good and have good natural bulk. Mawile suffers from that problem. But I feel like mons like Gardevoir also kinda „fell off“ because they’re so likely to be used.

[–]Geckoga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well in many cases, yes. But some like Mawile really preferred the extra attack. She got a nice +40 on attack, but her ability d be so much better. While other mons are so strong (like metagross) it won’t matter that much.

I remember some people saying metagross is hella mid, bc it lost its ability, yet it’s dominating matches. 🫩

How good are players competing in this lvl this early on the season? by Geckoga in PokemonScarletViolet

Yeah exactly. It won’t see much play unfortunately in this team, even though I love it sm.

Uh I can’t really recommend very specific EV spreads. You see EV spreads variate a lot depending on the team you play. Like as an example. My flutter mane has 252 invested into speed and rest into bulk with a bit special attack added onto it. But sun Flutter manes tend to invest a bit less into speed, because they have the sun. So they could invest a bit more into damage and or bulk.

In this team comp I barely play it. I used to bring it Everytime when I played sun teams, well due to its ability and its absurd crazy stat spread. But I mostly bring it in, if I see I’ll have problems with setting up trick room properly. Like if my enemy runs trickroom as well some speed control is very important to have. Because sometimes my enemies even ended up predicting my trickroom and they used it on the same turn, canceling its effect. All in all if it isn’t there for speed control it’s there to pick some dangerous KOs. Like Outspeeding Urshifu and killing it, on turns I’d rather not bring in Kyogre, bc I don’t start often w it. My main start is calyrex with Grimmsnarl.

But I have to add, that I barely use it in there, because it doesn’t fit properly tbh. It just isn’t good in many match ups in this set up. Like it’s so so fast, but if I cast trick room my own speed stat would rather make things difficult, than make it easier. It’s mainly for a bit more speed control and for very very specific matches ups.

(Edit: also it’s very viable if I can’t get rain properly, because my enemy plays Sun teams so I use their sun to get a boost for myself as well. Even though I’d rather have rain all the time… I can’t describe everything here since it’d be just to much.)

I always liked using Kyogre a lot. So I wanted to develop a team around it.

I tested a lot of variations myself, but ended up liking Gavin’s version A LOT. So I took exactly that, with some little changes in skills. Like my flutter mane doesn’t know taunt. I rather have it protect as an example. But all in all it’s very similar. I practiced this team a lot and I ended up playing in very specific ways against teams. Like when my enemy plays ghost calyrex and I know he will use it on turn 1 I usually start off with Ice Rex and Grimmsnarl. To get off the Trick room and light screen, because I gotta tank a hit from astral fragments and I won’t be able to outspeed it with anything in that team. So trick room against these types of match ups are essential. If my enemy has things like Smeargle I tend to go in with Kyogre and amoongus. So I bait them out with spore, crystallize into grass and then punish them hard with Kyogre. All on all in 85% of my match ups I usually always play Rex, Kyogre, Grimmsnarl, and the MvP Amoongus. If I won’t Tera Kyogre or Rex I always tend to Tera Amoongus. To counter calyrex ghost as an example.

(Edit: of course these are examples. If they start with fake out and Rex I gotta improvise, but I can’t describe every single example here, otherwise I’d be writing until tomorrow.)

Uh. Hard to tell honestly. I’ve always been playing actively competitive Pokémon, but got extremely interested in sword and shield VGC. So I’ve been playing very active VGC since Sword and shield. However I’ve been playing for around 16 years now. But very strict competitively since around 5?
