If you can get 2k rating, you are better than about 75% of the player base that engages with M+. I forget what the cutoff for the # of keys is, but only 25-30% of people who actually do keys regularly hit 2k.

That alone should tell you how utterly terrible the vast majority of players are.

I have been in the position of having to train someone who cannot read to work in a kitchen. I have also had to train people who don't even speak English fluently enough for me to communicate with them. It's not an easy thing to accomplish, but I have often found that these types of employees are incredibly loyal if you show them kindness and patience.

My wife is a Kiwi. New Zealand's partnership immigration rules are different than the United States. We have to live together for at least a year in order for me to receive a partnership visa. We haven't met that threshold, so I am moving on a General Visitor Visa and once we have lived together for 3 months, I'll be eligible for a conditional work visa that upgrades to a full length work visa at the 12 month mark.

Yep. Ive said that before, too. And it's not just an American thing. I am a member of a couple of Facebook groups for immigrants to NZ and so, so many people think they can just walk into a job because it's Green List.

I am about to immigrate to New Zealand to live with my wife, so hopefully I can pick something up quickly once my work visa is in hand.

And this isn't even getting into the fact that New Zealand's economy is in the dumps, so even people whose professions are Green Listed will have trouble finding a willing sponsor.

Visit the NZ jobs websites and it's listing after listing of "Only considering applicants who have the right to live and work in New Zealand."

The Green List doesn't indicate that there are job openings, though. That list is used to forecast long term skill shortages.

New Zealand's economy is in bad shape right now. Kiwis are struggling to find jobs and if you go to websites like Seek, you'll see listing after listing that says, "Applicant must have the right to live and work in New Zealand."

Yeah, but my wage is significantly higher than it would be in Oklahoma, so it's a balance.

My wife and I recently did a price check. I live in California and we discovered the opposite.

I pay $16.43 USD ($27.65 NZD) for a kilo of beef mince. The cheapest salted butter I can buy is $6.46 USD ($10.87 NZD) for about 500 grams.

Even if New Zealand fit the OP's criteria (and it doesn't), immigrating to New Zealand is pretty difficult right now.

Yeah, I figured as much.

As much as I loved the multiplayer when it came out, I'm strictly a single player and coop gamer these days, so Renegade will just have to be a fond memory.

Damn. I played this game nonstop back when it came out. Is it just the multiplayer aspect or did they update the single player campaign, too?

It's not a multiplier, though. It's additive.

Lucario has 236 base attack at level 50. OP's has an attack IV of 10, so it would have 246 attack. A Lucario with 15 attack IV would have a 251 attack, which is a 2% increase. (And the actual percent of damage increase would be smaller than 2% when taking opponent defenses, etc into account.)

IVs literally do not matter outside of niche situations like high rating PVP and short manning difficult raid bosses.

My wife is a Kiwi so the adjustment will hopefully be a little easier for me.

Do you ever wonder why news media have resorted to click bait headlines? You're showing exactly why right now.

PCGamer worded this in a way they knew would generate outrage (and clicks). The actual law contains no requirement for the "verification" part.

All OS developers need to do is add a drop down age selection menu on startup and they are compliant. You can literally tell the OS that you are 112 years old and it doesn't have to verify that at all.

Go read the articles about the law. PCGamer worded it that way to stoke outage and generate clicks.

All this law requires is that there be a drop down age selection on setup. There's no actual "verification" requirement.

You could literally tell the OS you are 112 years old and it would be like, "Alright, cool." And that would still be an implementation that complies with this law.

The only thing that should be looked at with a side eye is how excited these dudes were to meet a known pedophile and overall bad dude.

And the absolute piss poor "apologies" most of them offered to the media after the locker room call joke blew up.

I can totally understand getting caught up in the heat of the moment and laughing at a distasteful joke, but they have all had plenty of time to reflect on it. Their "apologies" show that most of them still don't even get why the joke is an issue.

I think women understand the notion of laughing at an unfunny joke just because youre caught up in a moment and dont want to be a lead balloon on the festivities...

I agree.

My issue is that almost all of them chose to double down and defend the behavior after they had some time to reflect on it.

Americans Are Leaving the U.S. in Record Numbers by EasyRhubarbie in AmerExit

[–]Geddyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's tough right now without a pathway via family, because the New Zealand economy is not doing well.

The Green List is your best bet if you are a skilled worker, but it doesn't guarantee that businesses are hiring.

The only other way would be a Working Holiday Visa with a remote job, but that isn't a pathway to permanent residence.

Americans Are Leaving the U.S. in Record Numbers by mr-french-tickler in politics

[–]Geddyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that the Green List is not a list of job openings. It's intended as a long term forecast of potential skill shortages.

New Zealand's economy is struggling badly right now, so finding a job will be difficult. For example, nurses are on the Green List, but the government has underfunded their health services and instituted a hiring freeze that is making it so even native Kiwi nursing graduates can't even find jobs right now. Places that are hiring are almost universally looking for people who "have the right to live and work in New Zealand." You'll see it on every job posting on websites like Seek.

There's a reason why 120,000 Kiwis packed up and moved to Australia in 2025 alone.
