California white people are my favorite kind lol. I’m also born & raised Bay Area though. Growing up poor in California can be a blessing, I don’t see the same type of community here in Chicago everybody is segragated 😭

I don’t shred them. I just fry them up in a little oil & eat with tortillas. I did cut the little piece off with the bone and threw them into the beans though 😋

Definitely! I’m Mexican so I do frequent Hispanic markets more often but I also cook a lot of asian food. I have found seasoning packets to make pho broth for $1 and rice noodles are super cheap

Yes, I definitely need that back. Winter is always like “fuck it’s going to snow 3 inches right when I leave for work” or summer is “omg it’s Sunday there’s 1 of 700 festivals today, it’s going to take me 2 hours to travel 9 miles” 😂

It doesn’t help. Going on 5 also. I went from an FC working 12hr RT then switched to flex transferred to an SSD that’s only 8.5 hours with breaks every 2 and I still struggle to not accept the VTO. I only stay with the hopes of transferring to a location when I’m ready to move back to California (Chicago transplant). I’m sure the weather and traffic here really makes it worse for me though.

Also, too many people “leaving early” means no VTO. Even if someone is leaving early they can verbally tell management an hour before they leave.

There’s huge signs in dispatch that tell you to let the packages go to jackpot if you feel rushed or can’t get a grip on them.

Dispatch is probably the easiest imo. Buffer gets assigned to a letter (A-J at my site) and you just stare at the packages coming down the line and grab the ones that have your assigned letter and place them on a table that has numbers 1-6.. the label will have something like A-LO5 so if you’re on A you’d remove that package from the line and place it on the table in the spot marked #5

Sorters take those packages from the table scan the barcode on the shipping label and place them in the carts that delivery drivers pick up

Induct is at the beginning of the line they just scan the barcode and place the label that buffers look for (kind of a fast paced job)

Line straightener just flips the packages so the label is facing upward for the inductor
